The Phylastar detached as the flames sprang into existence around Quilava's head and hit the Pokémon with a Bubblebeam as it charged away.

Quilava is hit and is sent flying imto the oncoming Riley 's chest, still engulfed in fire.

Riley jumped over the flaming Pokemon before turning to Riolu.

"I felt it too. We should investigate, just in case." Riolu said before both Riley and Riolu run off without giving anybody a clue to where they were running to.

Jack takes advantage of the calmed down phylistar, he rummages in his pack, and tosses a pokeball at the phylistar.

The Phylastar vanished in a jet of red light and the Poké Ball wobbled on the ground for nearly a minute before it settled.

As Riley and Riolu ran off, Serena started after them but was hindered by the waist-deep water she'd gotten into. "HEY! Come back here with my Poké Balls!"

Riolu looked back and saw November right behind them.

"We got a tail!" Riolu shouted to Riley.

"Gotta catch them all, Riolu! Gotta catch them all!" Riley said and Riolu hesitated for ten seconds before throwing the pokeballs at November as Riley and Riolu start to run faster and start to jump from branch to branch.

"Blast!!! Get up, we need to get back to the pack!" Riolu yelled as it and Riley shot to their feet but stood back to back. "We can't afford distractions like this."

"We can get through this and get to the pack. Don't worry." Riley says as both of them prepare aura spheres.

Salom appeared from literally nowhere and swatted Riley in the head, knowing the human would be more vulnerable to being knocked unconscious than the Fighting-type. It was gone in a flash before either of them could react.

Jack releases phylistar, and points out Riley to it. The phylistar. Launches at the trainer while the plunger. Is thrown at Riolu.

Riley falls his knees and shakes his head to clear it from the impact.

"You alright?" Riolu asked his partner as it watches the area through aura.

"Yeah, just a little cloudy. No black, can still go another round." Riley said back as he recreates the aura spheres since they disappeared after he got hit. "Did you see it?"

"Salom, disappeared after hitting you." Riolu replied as it remained on high alert. But in sync Riley and Riolu shot aura spheres at their incoming distractions. "Stay back, wild Pokemon in the area and a aggressive one at that." Riolu warned as the Plunger was destroyed but Riley's shot missed and exploded near Jack raining hot sand onto the trainer.

Jack jumped away of the falling molten sand wile phylistar dodges the sphere and hits riley.

Riley raises his arm, and allows the Phylastar and apperently makes the Pokemon into a living shield. He remains on high alert for the Salom.

The Salom appeared again right behind Riley's head and smashed him to the ground before vanishing again. Faint Attack is apparently HIGHLY useful, especially with Serena directing it.

Riley slowly got to his knees and looked around for the attacking Pokemon.

"Why is that thing only attacking me?!" Riley yelled.

"The pack disappeared! We can't find them anywhere and we were going to investigate." Riolu said as Riley got up unsteadily.

"They are the only family I have! You have your human families but they raised me as one of their own. Even when they could have left me to some humans, they continued to take care of me. Now I need to return the favor and take care of them." Riley screamed out at Serena. Pain in his voice.

Serena was momentarily surprised but quickly went back on the offensive. "Get over yourself! What about the families of everyone in Kanto and Johto, huh?! Are you so selfish that you'd run off because you've got some stupid hunch that a group of Pokémon disappeared and risk the deaths of thousands of people?!"
