Rolling for the fight. #1 is your hit, #2 is a goblin.

I know. You failed. I'm am going to stop using Skynet to roll, it takes up a lot of space on the OOC. I'm gonna just use a d6 IRL, and you'll just have to trust me.

Yeah I prefer that system anyway. Besides, when people don't know roles it can be useful.

Re: Middle-Earth OOC
Here is my character...
Name: Marie "Gold Seeker"
Background: Her father was a thief who stole gold from a wealthy noble. As punishment, he was sent out to the mountains [the ones with Moria] along with his then 9 year old daughter to find gold to make up for the amount he allegedly stole. As her father over the years searched for gold, it was pretty evident there was next to none. One day when Marie was fifteen, she felt something strange. It seemed to be a force pulling her towards something. It turned out she could sense gold. Her father returned to Gondor to relieve his punishment. Only the city decided to execute him.
Marie returned to the mountains where she grew up and with her ability to sense gold found a fortune over the next few years. She could have returned to Gondor and been a happy as well as rich woman, but she knew that she wanted more gold. She wanted more, and the mountains were not exactly rich in gold ore.
She therefore offered herself in the service of the dwarves. She was renowned for finding gold ores and she gained the dwarves trust. Only it was misplaced. Maria wanted the gold for herself and managed to smuggle out a good sum of gold. When she was caught, she was sent into exile. She is now heading back to Gondor to check out rumors of gold.
Personality: Addicted to gold. One might say that she is greedy for gold, but she will say that the metal's color is what interests her, not the monetary value.
Abilities/ Other stuff: Can sense gold in her vicinity. Otherwise, she has no fighting skills with weapons. Her years in the mountains gave her some upper body strength. Her only other skill she has is that she can speak Dwarwen (in case language is an issue) and she is very good with finances.
Location: En route to Gondor

I thought about that, but it doesn't matter a whole lot. After all, most of Tolkien's names are anglicized versions of their "original" form.

I have no clue if it is a Gondor-ish name.

As I said, it really doesn't matter. You can start doing stuff any time. Also, I am assuming you're somewhere in the Brown Lands, between Erebor and Rohan.

[nitpick]Looked it up, Gondor(ian?) names are derived from Sindarin.[/nitpick]
Anyway. How many characters are we permitted, just one?

Re: Middle-Earth OOC
Yes, just one character per person, if your character dies you can create a new one.

10. And I am rolling a die for a lot of the things, so for instance, the dead dwarves? That happened because I rolled a 2.

Re: Middle-Earth OOC
By the way people, time is relative, meaning it is a different time for each character, unless two characters are in the same place, in which case they share the same time. So, even though the journey from Rivendell to Bree would take at least a week, Latnir found Gwindle and the Wargs.
