"Very well Kira. I'll make the necessary preparations." The president turned to leave. The government had kept weapons of different countries in their arsenal over the years, mostly for research. Loping a few missiles from the Russian side of the border at a few cities should be enough to justify war. Could he pull it off successfully, he'd be immortalized in history. Not to mention he'd be the one who'd make his country the world power again. He started to dial on a secure land-line....

Kira remained in place. What interested him more than anything else was that, despite Russia clearly being the target, the president had not requested that their leadership be killed. Interesting. He was saving that for any other necessary enemies.

The forest god was known to be lenient, even to the most hated of enemies. He was an older man by appearance, powerful, yet unwilling to use his powers in fear of damaging lives around him "I do appreciate fire for what it does, but I don't think it justifies burning the forest."
The forest god didn't sound too angry, just trying to make a point "what are you doing in these parts anyway?"

A tourist (government official) was hiking in northern China, just outside a larger township. He stopped to film the scenery and by chance was able to record a missile strike.

The phone on the president's desk went off, just as he was by chance meeting with his generals. An attack had been performed on a northern town, and the inhabitants killed by an army. Quickly government phone lines went abuzz and the Russian president declared his innocence, and promised to resolve the issue.

Not long after, the video by the tourist had been uploaded online. The missile was identified of Russian make. Again Russia denied being involved. Troops of both nations were near the border.

The Chinese president sat behind his expensive desk, and smiled. Soon there'd be an even worse attack on Western China, getting rid of some troublesome activists in the region and giving his government a reason to invade. Two birds with one stone.

At the camp, in the room that was left standing the TV just announced the story. The forest god didn't seem to notice as he conversed with Lutos.

The UN quickly brings the two head of state together. Russia continues to say it is innocent. It will help China track down the "rogue" army. The Chinese don't believe the Russians (at least not publicly) demanding that Russia has to compensate the victims. The Russians say that despite the fact that they didn't do it, they'd compensate as a sign of good will.

Anti-Russian sentiment is felt throughout the east.

A few days pass and the tensions seemingly are reduced. However soon after, three missiles of Russian make (2 of them "conveniantly" filmed) hit western China. The president smiles to himself: war was going to break out. On a televised address he says he's had enough of "Russian aggression" and sees their actions as an act of war.

China declares war on Russia (or Russia has declared war on China depending on who's side of the story is listened to).

Troops are mobilized in Manchuria.

The UN security council meets...both sides have a permanent member...gg.
Japan denounces Russia for aggression, but urges China to peacefully resolve the issues with its' northern neighbor.
N. Korea pledges to help China.
Mongolia is also urging a peaceful solution (no kidding, it is in the middle of an uncomfortable situation).
Britain, France, Germany, EU countries, US, Canada and others all want negotiations. Leaders are invited to Paris for talks (neither side has responded).
Kazakhstan is going to help Russia if China should invade, Belarus seems equally eager to prove their worth to Russia.
Southeast Asian countries are scared that their northern neighbor could be victorious and end world peace (insofar that world peace is not already null and void).

Kira made sure to occupy the front lines to watch people shoot each other. For the most part he remained invisible, though he scared some random soldiers once because he got bored.

There was a battle along the border, with artillery and soldier lining up on either side. Planes were strategically used to try to gain leverage over the other nation.

*Godly Plane*

If two dimensions could be described as interwoven, the Godly and the Earthly plane would be perfect examples. Already reverberations of events on earth reached parliament. This parliament is not to be confused with the British parliament. Instead it is housed in an impressive building of finest magical material, as the governing body of the supernatural (after all, gods too like to show off). It had been agreed after the cold war, that there be one government for all. Not all had agreed, but those who gods/titans/faerie/etc. who wanted peace decided to give up some of their freedom in exchange for peace.

Needless to say, the head of the counsel, Allanon, was in politically a bit of a dire position. The entire establishment relied on its achievement to prevent large wars. So far that had in effect been the case with the exception of Iraq and Afghanistan. Allanon, was the god of justice. In the halls of parliament, he is often described as the "Justice Machine". The name was well deserved, based on the fact of how fast and ruthlessly he judged and punished the accused who'd been captured.

Ordinarily, he'd have been in a good mood after coming back from a long day of work at the Supernatural Court. However, hearing that someone had caused such a chaos on Earth annoyed him. Who'd broken the rules that no God interfere with Earthly affairs without permission form Parliament. Or more accurately from him, being the head of parliament.

He took a deep breath before stepping into the room housing the council of Gods. Today was going to be a long day...

Intense fighting is getting worse by the hour. Troops have been deemed useless, on both sides owing to intercontinental balistic missiles and high tech weaponry on both sides. Death tolls are climbing at an astounding rate. North Korea declares war on Russia (joining China), citing "valid reasons that remain disclosed until a future date"

Diplomats from P5+1 group have met to discuss a ceasefire between the two permanent members.

Russia: "Russia hopes to peacefully resolve any issue with our southern neighbor. We have evidence that in effect we weren't the perpetrator, but the victims."
China: "We will back a peaceful resolution, but we also need to remember those killed by Russian agression."
US: "Steps need to be taken to prevent such an outbreak from ever happening again. It is a huge tragedy, and we will not stand for any agression. Agression is a thing of the past, peace is the path to the future. We also take the time to call on North Korea to stop their invasion within 24 hours."
France and Britain: "We will help in any way possible to prevent any more deaths."
Germany: "War should never be the method of solving problems. It needs to be done peacefully and in a considerate manner."

****Other news:
The Greek debt has reached record highs. The Greek PM is traveling to Brussels and the Munich to get support for more loans. Loans however don't seem likely, as the EU recently had to bail out the Greek government over a US company loan. Germans in particular are unwilling to spend another Euro in the debt laden country without some comprehensive reforms on the Greek part. Anger in Greece is rising (rise of an political extremist?)
The EU is fast-tracking two monopoly cases... one vs. computer giant Google and the other against Gazprom.
