Meanwhile in the big war up north...

Russian troops are beginning to really feel the effects of British interdiction. Barely any supplies are getting through from Scandinavia, and the Germans are fighting with a tenacity to make OTL's Britons of the Battle of Britain proud. Large elements of the invading army are tired, fragmented, and besieged by regular German hit-and-run assaults. Morale is at an all-time low and it's anyone's guess as to how long before groups begin to desert and/or surrender.

That said, much of Germany is in ruins. The Russians pounded a devastating swathe of destruction across the country. It will be years after the war before Germany can regain all of its former strength.

In addition, the French invaders still haven't been effectively dealt with. British anti-armor tactics leave quite a bit to be desired, and while they've kept the FT17s from advancing much, they also haven't done much damage. French tankers are beginning to figure out that it takes essentially a direct hit to do more than scratch the paint, a direct hit being extremely difficult with the technology of the day. British and Italian authorities have met in Turin to discuss the possibility of a joint strike into the South of France to draw their forces away from Germany.

On the big public-morale fronts of the war, strong isolationist elements have re-surfaced in the United States, loudly demanding that Uncle Sam remain comfortably at home until the growing pains from absorbing Canada and Alaska can be effectively dealt with. And in Russia, the peasants remain largely ignorant of their soldiers' plights in Germany, the state's propaganda machine churning out reports of German oppressors killed daily and how close Berlin is to falling.

Despite the fact they haven't retaken the island, the Greeks secure more area.

The rescue operation was successful, with no Greek casualties.

The Greeks do not push farther into Crete, but they do not lose any of the area they secured either.

The production of tanks was a complete failure due to what King Charles believes to be Bulgarian Sabatuers

The Turks viciously attack Greek ships heading for Crete with their dreadnoughts, which they have retained since the collapse of their empire. While obsolescent, the ships outgun anything the Greeks have in the water and impose a blockade of Crete, preventing the shipment of supplies to the soldiers stationed there.

In Germany, months of vicious back-and-forth fighting outside Hamburg come to a close as Russian divisions, half-starved, ragged and using their bayonets more than their guns, surrender in droves. The entire attack on that front collapses almost instantly as the Germans find themselves with scarcely anyone to fight. However, the two Russian drives toward Munich and Berlin have yet to be stopped entirely. But with thousands of veteran German troops now available they will undoubtedly be easier to tackle.

The French, meanwhile, have fielded some of the first effective anti-air weaponry and with it staved off the constant British air raids. Their presence in German remains half-hearted at best, what with Germany's allies Great Britain and the Italian Imperium to worry about. French generals are generally panicking over perceived attempts by the British to field an invasion force and as such they cannot as yet do anything meaningful in Germany.

Britain, meanwhile, with the news that the Russians' westernmost offensive has been destroyed, begin landing troops in northwest Germany. The onslaught of the Tommies catches the Russians off-guard.

Italy, while entertaining thoughts of an offensive into southeastern France, has generally concerned itself more with holding down the rebelling sections of Austria and considering what to do about the Balkans war between Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.

The Greek fleet-though few in number- manage to rally and viciously attack the Turk blockade, breaking through at a bloody cost.

The Greek agents are caught and swiftly executed

The soldiers didn't push any farther into Crete.

Meanwhile, King Charles sends word to the Turkish Republic, demanding why they dishonored the agreement between Turkey and Greece in taking Crete. He also begins to upgrade the Greek navy.

[Point 1: An 11 is not going to break a blockade by a more modern AND larger navy. I'd suggest you try and get Italy on board with you, their navy is the best in the Mediterranean besides the Royal Navy at Malta.

Point 2: Technically it's my call what happens to the agents. This isn't an issue here but I thought I'd point it out because in another situation or another RP it might piss off the DM.]

Turkey responds, disdainfully, that the agreement was fundamentally flawed by not recognizing obvious Turkish sovereignty over Crete, which clearly lies within their sphere of influence (or so they say).

(Sorry for taking the call)

Greece justifies the agreement by saying that Crete is much closer to Greece than it is to Turkey and therefore lies in their sphere of influence.

Meanwhile, the Greeks ask the Italian Imperium for aid in retaking Crete.

Also, the soldiers still on Crete try a final push to retake the island. (1st roll)

The Greeks also attempt to modernize their navy (2nd roll)

The soldiers are still holed up in their current position. They begin to fortify it.

The modernization is also a complete fail.

Italy does not respond to Greece for some time, but in the end they commit their fleet to the Greek cause. Italian dreadnoughts and destroyers duke it out with Turkish ones, sending many to the bottom and forcing the blockade open.

Finally, after a long struggle, the Greek soldiers retake Crete. There is much rejoicing in Greece after a long fight to reclaim what was theirs. Fireworks and celebrations are everywhere.

Due to their success, King Charles slows the modernization down as he celebrates with his subjects.

Also, Greece sends diplomats to Turkey to propose a treaty to end their conflict. They also begin to fortify their defenses on Crete as they turn their eyes towards Bulgaria.
