Re: Storm The Castle
The ice was thin, nearly translucent, and as Lydia heard more footsteps (receding again), she saw a brief movement beyond the ice. Something blue.
The footsteps stopped, then started up again, now heading sideways. Evidently somebody had run out of room.

Re: Storm The Castle
Lydia went back down the stairs back to Felix "There's definitely someone here"

Re: Storm The Castle
The ice at the top of the stairs was no longer transparent, having been thickened considerably. Whoever was up there was pacing.

They led to additional balconies and other rooms, none of which had a person in it.

"Well, other then the sub-zero temperatures and the occasional morphing stair cases. This place is kind of nice"

"That it is, did you find anything up there?" Felix asks, referencing the 1st staircase.

Re: Storm The Castle
Whoever this mysterious palace-dweller was, they were at the very top of the tower and there was nowhere else for them to go.
The ice at the top of the staircase had thinned somewhat; odd, since it shouldn't have melted, but the point was it was somewhat see-through again. Numerous figures could be seen beyond it, the same ice-blue as Lydia had seen fleeing them. And by their angular, jagged appearances and what appeared to be spears, pikes and halberds, they were apparently guarding the top of the staircase.

Re: Storm The Castle
The guards didn't move. At all. They stood there, apparently glaring down at Lydia as she mixed her powder.
Re: Storm The Castle
Once she was done Lydia puts the powder in a sort of Grenade like bag

Re: Storm The Castle
Lydia goes to the first staircase and places the Grenade next to the ice and sets it off at a safe distance

There was no real response, except for the person to stop pacing and start running.

Re: Storm The Castle
That it did. Coming to the top of the staircase, it proved to lead to what appeared to be a bedchamber formed from ice. The "guards" proved to be nothing more than ice sculptures...most of them had survived the blast, however. Bits of the ice barrier that had sealed off the entrance were scattered around the room.
Most interesting, however, was the prone figure a short way away from the stairway. A woman, lying face-down on the icy floor, wearing a stunning dress of crystalline blue; the same shade Lydia had seen earlier behind an ice wall. Her hair was a pale blonde, very nearly white, and pulled into a braid that splayed out across the floor as she lay there.

Re: Storm The Castle
Lydia saw the woman and instantly thought "Oh s@#$"
Since she had some sort of morality Lydia ran up to the woman and tried to see the extent of her ingeres

Re: Storm The Castle
She seemed to have been hit in the head by a piece of the barrier; the resulting impact might have killed her. Her body was certainly cold, not like a living person's, and where Lydia (and Felix and Rudolf)'s breath was a foggy cloud, hers was not. In fact, it took a moment for Lydia to realize she wasn't in fact dead...which in fact raised more questions than it answered.
