Rudolf's hand and the gun it held were both encased in ice half an inch thick and horribly cold. Lydia saw the skin was rapidly turning an unhealthy greenish shade nearest the ice.

Elsa turned back to the group, looking close to tears. She gestured at Rudolf's ruined hand. "You see? I'm a monster, I freeze everything around me. You have to go, while you still can! Please, for your own sake, listen to me!" The ice palace was still glowing a dull red where it wasn't black as the night around them.

She then puts some herbs on Rudolf's hand and it slowly thaws the ice

The ice thaws and frees the man's hand...which is splotchy blue and green with frostbite.

The heat from the combined herbs brought some life back into Rudolf's flesh, angry red patches heating up on his palm. This was quickly followed by him regaining feeling - not a good thing, as pain shot through his arm, leaving him feel like a rail spike had been pounded through his hand.

Elsa decided now was time for drastic action. A jet of icy magic flew from her hands, striking the floor in front of Rudolf and erupting into a large, angular wall of ice. Another jet, sustained this time, and the ice slid forward, colliding with Rudolf and pushing him back along the bridge, heading towards Felix.
