Jaron hadn't bother firing, for fear of hitting Cayden or just his bullets having no effect. However, now that really wasn't an issue right now. He lifted the rifle, and shot at center of mass, the centaur's chest.

Krista's mantis arms closed around the sword just above the leaders grip, but the leader held fast to his sword. After a short struggle (and a little help from the other mantis arm) the leader was forced to drop the sword on the ground (unless Krista decides to keep it in her grip). Thereupon the leader decided to use the horse shoes on his legs to kick Krista, aiming for her lower torso.

The spear that Cayden threw at the centaur, managed to lodge itself in the centaurs upper torso. It collapsed in front of Cayden, deeply in pain, but unable to stand up (still going to strike it with sword? If yes, automatic kill).

Jaron fires at the nearest centaur. The rifle pops (cracks?) audibly, firing point blank at one of the centaurs swarming around Cayden. Jaron felt the tingle of death shortly after firing. Unfortunately the rifle drew the attention of the centaur archers, who quickly switched from shooting at Raizo to firing at Jaron, who had very little cover (unless Cayden counts...).

The wall in the back of the house falls apart as two centaurs wielding swords enter. They figured their glorious leader would take care of Krista easily, thus opting to split up - one going for Odysseus and the other for Raizo. The first one charged at Odysseus, guessing that a Serbian archer would be an easy kill (swinging for neck). The other centaur concluded on the other hand - no enemy fire mage = good. He charged at Raizo trying to stick the sword through Raizo's back (or front depending on if Raizo is paying attention).

Archer's, gunman, it doesn't really matter, they have things that can shoot and kill you. Jaron all but dived to whatever cover he could find, reaching out to the dead around him to serve as some sort of cover.

Krista couldn't really hold the sword well enough to use it so she opened her claw and let it fall to the ground, just in time to catch the centaur's kick straight to the torso. The impact forced the breath from her lungs and sent her staggering backward against the wall.

The closest cover to Jaron was the dead centaur - which wasn't the greatest cover. It certainly wasn't going to be permanent as the centaur archers rode in a circular arc to get a better shot of their adversary.

The leader was happy to finally have hit the pesky human-mantis girl. He grabbed the sword off ground and closed in for the killing blow.

Cayden runs towards cover along with Jason as he hesitated from finishing off the wounded centaur. He was thinking of whether he should've or could've killed him. It didnt matter now, he clenches his sword and peeks over for an opening to get moving.

Seeing the leader about to kill Krista, Odysseus took aim for the leader's hands and fires his bow, praying to the gods that it would hit.

If it doesn't, then he hopes it would distract the leader for a bit to help Krista catch her breath.

He did all of this after dodging the blow from the incoming centaur.

Okay. Never mind trying to disarm the guy. That hurt - clearly they were playing for keeps here. Krista lunged forward, swinging a fully-extended claw at the centaur's head or neck.

The arrow fired by Odysseus just barely misses the centaur leader and hits the wall behind him, but it succeeds at getting his attention. He turns around and glares at Odysseus.

"STOP!" An elderly centaur shouts, emerging from the forest. Unlike the other centaur leaders, he has a fuller beard colored white and a purple shirt with a hood covering his head. It is apparent that, whoever this centaur is, he is important in Centaur society.

"Centaurs, half-bloods, lay down your arms! Zybran," he says, looking at the centaur leader, "Who you are fighting are not the Serbians who have been persecuting us, but rather innocents.

The centaur leader, whom you now know as Zybran, lowers his sword and bows to the elderly centaur, with the other centaurs following in suit.

The elderly centaur approaches the group and says, "Apologies for the initial hostilities, travellers. My name is Fustag, chief of the centaurs, and I grant you safe passage through the realm. This is the proof of my permission."

He hands each party member a medallion. It is horse-like in shape.

"Told you none of us were Serbians." Krista grumbled at the centaur she'd been fighting. She started the process of turning her mantis claws back to hands to accept the medallion.

"We apologize for the initial hostilities," Fustag says. "Ever since the river's been flooding, the Serbians have increased their attacks upon us, due to Prime Minister Jovanna Jelic ordering their attacks on us to 'reclaim land'. We have been weary of outsiders for quite some time."

After handing out the rest of the medallions, he motioned to the rest of the centaurs. "Since it is raining, you don't mind if we take you to our village, do you? After all, you'll find better shelter there than here."

"I don't mind all that much." Odysseus says. "Probably won't sleep very well, but I don't mind."

Meanwhile, as the group was talking with the centaurs, a squad of Serbian soldiers was approaching the house...

"From the looks of it, yep." Odysseus says, sighing a very heavy sigh. From one fight to the next, it looks like...

"HALT!" The leader of the Serbians shouts. He pulls out a revolver, points it at the group and says, "Communication with centaurs is illegal due to Regulation 742. Given your earlier crimes of kidnapping someone in Belgrade, and now this new crime, we are to bring you in for questioning."

"We didn't kidnap anyone!" Odysseus says.

The leader turns to look at Odysseus. "Looks like we've got ourselves a political prisoner here, boys!"

"It's illegal to talk to centaurs? That's such a stupid law..." Krista muttered. She reversed the transformation, causing her hands to halt and turn back into mantis scythes. No way this wasn't going to end in a fight...

The soldier turned to Krista and says, "Why, yes it is, young lady. Now everybody, up against the wall!"

Odysseus breathed a sigh of relief, noting the lack of suspicion. If they had found out...

CAyden was still shaken up a bit fromthe last fight, but even then he registered the danger of these serbain soldiers, his inner instincts telling him to ready his arms and slaughter those in his way. He doesn't agree to this but his hand already gripped tightly on the hilt of his shortsword.

"Grab him." The Serbian leader says to his soldiers, motioning to Odysseus. Two of the soldiers nod and start to walk over to Odysseus.

Odysseus, anticipating this move, loads his bow and fires at him. The shot misses, which causes the leader to shout, "RETURN FIRE!"

Krista went for the closest target - the soldiers who were after Odie. Snapping open one of her claws to its full length, she slashed at the two Serbians, aiming to either hit them or drive them back.

Jaron opened fire the second that he had the chance. He didn't bother with niceties, he aimed for the head or the heart.

While he did, he tried willing something from the dead, anything to give them cover or an edge.

Cayden follow behind Krista, swinging his shortsword in quick session on other nearby eemies

Krista's claws struck one of the Serbians on the arm, causing him to drop his gun and howl in pain. Cayden came in a short-while later, however, and made quick work of the soldier, leaving him in two pieces.

The other one managed to jump out of the way in time before being shot in the head by Jaron. Odysseus used this as an opportunity to slip to a more advantageous area- behind a knocked-over table.

Enraged, the Serbian commander ordered for the rest of his soldiers to capture Odysseus alive. Zybran drew his sword and ordered for his centaurs to charge into the fray, blocking all but six of the soldiers, who were fast approaching the group with their weapons raised.

Krista went for one on the side - the better to keep from being surrounded or blocking Raizo, Odie or Jaron's line of fire.

Jaron kept up the fire as fast as he could, but only aiming for the outliers so that Krista or Cayden weren't swarmed.

Odysseus loads his bow and fires, striking one of the Serbian soldiers in the neck with a lucky shot. As the soldier falls, a nauseous feeling comes over him as he realizes this experience will haunt him for the rest of his days.

On Krista's side, she claws one of the soldiers in the stomach.

Jaron shot one of the soldiers in the head and then shot another soldier in the stomach.
