Cayden walks down to the basement and meets the rest of the group downstair. Seeing Odysseus grabbing the bow, he too decided that he need a weapon, so he tookthe spear and tested its wait. Like the sword, his body instinctively knew how to fight with a spear.

Jaron just checked that his firearms were in the right order. His parentage didn't exactly say what weapon he should wield. Anything that brought death, so that narrowed it down to... every weapon.

He kept looking into the distance, trying to see whatever got his attention earlier.

Krista noted that the room itself had been left relatively alone. A good portion of the room was covered in dust, meaning it was mostly a deposit area.

It was difficult to see what had hidden among the trees, but Jaron did hear something galloping away. He couldn't discern who/what it was, but someone knew of the groups presence thanks to the lights of the house.

"Doesn't look like they took much from down here..." the Finn murmured to herself. As yet she was unaware of the goings-on outside.

Jaron was the first to see it, as roughly 13 centaurs emerged from the treeline and took the beaten path towards the house. They had bows strapped to their backs and were holding spears. Their leader wore some armor and held a short sword, galloping in front of the group.

Jaron mentally swore in his native tongue "Anyone here speak centaur?" Jaron asked before readying his riffle.

[Sirius Lupin]

"Why?" Odysseus asks, coming upstairs.

As soon as he sees the centaurs, he says, "Dammit. As if this day can't get any worse."

He begins looking around for any arrows he can use to fight. "Arrow, arrow," he says as he looks.

Odysseus recalled that there were some arrows downstairs.

The centaurs upon nearing the hut spread into a wide arc, with the leader a few feet in front.

Odysseus quickly runs downstairs to grab the quiver of arrows and then runs upstairs.

He loads his bow, draws the bow back, takes aim, and fires at the centaur leader.

The leader's mood wasn't improved as an arrow sailed within close proximity to him, courtesy of Odysseus. He pointed his sword in the direction of his attacker and shouted something in Greek - presumably to attack.

Several of the centaurs drew their bows and shot at Odysseus, whilst the others charged towards Jaron, who stood in front of the house.

Odysseus ducks out of the way of the arrows. He figured he wouldn't hit the leader and made a mental note to train in the art of archery when he gets back to the academy.

He loads his bow and fires again at the centaurs while shouting, "We need some help up here!"

[A Blind Guy]

Raizo, running to where he heard shouting holds up his hand, sending ga blinding beam of light at the archers, taking cover next to a window.

"What did you do?"

[Flagmauth]

Krista followed Raizo up and swore in Finnish as she saw what was going on. "So much for talking things out!" She didn't have a ranged attack...and claws weren't likely to do well against spears, were they? She glanced down at her hands...what else would work?

CAyden ducked for covered and held his spear closed tempted to throw it but knew better.

The leader pulled out a shield. He saw another arrow flying his way and managed to block it in time. Had he not pulled out the shield, the arrow would surely have hit him somewhere in the upper torso area. The leader charged at Odysseus (yes, through the doorway) "you Serbians will never be able to take our lands again!"

The few archers who didn't get temporarily blinded shot at Raizo with their longbows, clearly identifying their #1 threat. Three of the other remaining centaurs charged towards Cayden, who seemed like an easy target.

The last two centaurs went for Jaron, identifying the gun as an immediate threat.

Cayden let his inner battle take over his body as he readies the spear with ease and pierced the tip at the closest charging centaur's front leg

Serbians? Odysseus thought as he readied another arrow to loose. He most certainly was not a Serbian, although the centaurs didn't know that.

In fact, more questions were forming in his head. Did these centaurs have any connection to the disappearance of the owner of this house? It certainly seemed likely at this point, given how territorial centaurs were.

Shaking his head, he cleared his mind of these thought, needing to focus on the here and now. He aimed his bow at the leader and fired before retreating further into the house, not expecting to hit the leader.

[Flagmauth]

Krista focused intently on her power - her fingers on both hands fused together as a layer of chitinous armor grew around her forearms and hands. They elongated, serrated barbs forming on the inside edges...perfect. From the elbows down Krista's arms were identical to those of a mantis. Well, a mantis the size of a human anyway.

When the centaur leader came through the doorway she struck, spearing her new weapons at his face and chest.

The centaur clearly wasn't expecting Cayden to hit with such precision and fell forward, as its leg got pierced. It fell onto the ground right in front of where Cayden sat crouched. The Centaur thrust its towards Cayden, who was now within striking distance. The other centaurs continued their charge on Cayden, spears lowered...

The leader charged into the house, forcing Odysseus to forgo his shot in favor of getting out of the way. Krista's newfound weapons cut into the centaur leaving a nasty cut in the middle of the centaurs back. He roared in anger and turned to face Krista with his sword drawn "You attack me like a coward, just like your human chieftains take our land."

Odysseus had thank Krista for getting him out of trouble later- even if that was not her intent. But right now, he needed to return the favor.

He loaded his bow and fired at the leader's leg, who was a little closer. He aimed for the leg to make sure he didn't accidentally kill Krista.

Hopefully, this one will hit...

"You realize we're not Serbians, right?" Krista pointed out, lunging and trying to close one of her mantis claws around the sword so she could keep it out of the way.

Raizo kept behind cover, once or twice blind-firing a fireball at the group of Centaurs.

Unfortunately for Oddyseus, it was rather difficult to aim properly through the doorway at the enclosed space. Nevertheless, it struck the leader, although the arrow didn't stick (due to close range-ness). Needless to say the centaur leader wans't too happy.

The leader kept his hands on the sword, swiping aside Krista's attempts to grab a hold of it/ dislodge the sword from his grip. He then swung straight at Krista with his sword, aiming at her upper torso.

The initial fireballs of Raizo struck their mark. Two of the centaurs released loud shriek. They were lucky it was windy/rainy thus not having to worry about being lit on fire - although the fireballs themselves really hurt. The archers correctly identified Raizo as the main threat and arrows sailed in his direction.

Outside the house (Jaron & Cayden) managed to hold their own fighting the centuars. Cayden had his spear and sword in hand, well versed in the use of both, much to the three nearby centaur's dismay. Currently one of them was trying to once again charge at Cayden with his spear. Jaron stood behind Cayden in relative safety (although he has yet to fire).

It was then that the party members inside felt the house shaking. If either Raizo or Odysseus took a moment to look around, they could see cracks in the back wall. Presumably someone/thing was trying to knock down the wall - and possibly with it the house.

It was also starting to get darker outside - an advantage for the centaurs...

Krista ducked to one side to avoid the attack, trying again to get one of her claws to snap shut around the centaur leader's sword arm.
