The receptionist nods. "One moment." She typed something into the keyboard, then looked back up at the armored...was hero the right word?...in front of her. "Please, take a seat through the door on your left. He should be here in five minutes or so."
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Monolith bowed his head respectfully and motioned to his team to follow him through the aforementioned door. The second he was through, he looked for the first place to sit down.

It appeared to be some sort of waiting room. Chairs were lined up in rows. Not terribly comfortable-looking ones either.
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"Figures." Monolith muttered before taking a seat.
His weight almost crushed the seat right there and then, but it was stable for the most part.

Levitate put a tab bit of gravity on the chair and monolith butt in the direction opposite of the normal ground, just in case monolith might accidentally crush it.

It actually made everything more comfortable "Thanks." he said.

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
It turned out to be a bit more than five minutes. Typical bureaucracy - about as elegant and efficient as conducting an appendectomy with a backhoe. But after closer to fifteen minutes, the door opened. Armsmaster walked in, followed by another pair of capes from the local Protectorate. One was an olive-skinned woman in a stylized army uniform, her face masked by a scarf bearing the American flag's stars and stripes and a pistol holstered at her waist: Miss Militia, second-in-command of the Protectorate East-Northeast. The other was a man whose white and gold costume appeared to be patterned after the Spartans of ancient Greece, if updated to look slightly more modern. A metal disc about the size of a dinner plate was strapped to one forearm like a buckler, and slung from his belt was what appeared to be a metal baton: Dauntless, a cape whose power grew over time, believed to eventually be capable of matching the Triumvirate in strength.
Armsmaster looked over the quartet before him seemingly neutrally, his allies standing behind him off to either side. "I take it you've decided you're going to be heroes, then?"

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Monolith stood and nodded to the assembled heroes "My team and I have come to an agreement. We will join your effort for a more.. public defence of the city."
He gestured behind him "You've already met a few of them, but allow me to properly introduce everyone. My Second in command, Sonorus, and my Lieutenants Sandstorm and Levitate."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Armsmaster nodded, glancing at each in turn as they were introduced. "Is this your whole team?" The tone of his voice made it clear he didn't think so, and was prodding Monolith for information.
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Sonorous did his best to remain cool headed, nodding to the capes, while on the inside, he was holding himself together since 3 of his idols are in the same room as him.

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
The message was clear enough, but right now, Monolith didn't exactly have the chance to lie if he wanted to keep on the good side.
"No, the rest declined to come. They don't take kindly to the PRT and I did no force them."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
A single nod. "You are aware, of course, we will need to know who your remaining members are as well as their powers."
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Monolith returned the nod "Of course. Another valued members are Wargame, Ober, and Leet."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
That got a reaction: Dauntless visibly did a double-take and Miss Militia raised an eyebrow. Armsmaster's visor covered most of his face so he didn't give any visible signs, but his tone was incredulous. "Uber and Leet? Did I hear that right?"
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"You did, is that a problem?"

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"As a matter of fact it is, but not an insurmountable one."
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"They have their uses. And, as a personal aside, Wargame and Leet are quite the formidable combination."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Monolith was glad that he didn't have to frown in front of people, masks are amazing. Well, here's hoping they actually keep their end.
"I would recommend that you keep this information strictly off the books for now. Wargame is a asset that requires surprised to be the most effective. But for your answer, he can swap powers within a certain range. He utilizes this with Leet to give his Tinker powerset to another, but without the flaws that come with utilizing his power more than once on a single object. They are currently building a project that I can't wait to see finished.

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"The information we have on your powers will only be released to the public with your approval." Armsmaster assured him, before addressing another concern: "I'd like to hear more about this project, though. What do they plan to do with it? What's it capable of?"
Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"I have no idea what they intend to do with it. All I know is, that it will be most effective."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
"We'll have to revise our files on the pair of them." The rest of the meeting went fairly smoothly. Paperwork was signed (translated from legalese: uphold the law, refrain from excessive/lethal force except in extenuating circumstances, report to the PRT Director to respond to S-class threats, you know. Heroic stuff.) and all that but nobody wants to read about it and since Monolith was the only one doing anything there's no point outlining it here.
After about an hour of going over this stuff (and merchandising concerns because it's important dammit) Armsmaster handed Monolith a telephone set. Clearly not tinkertech, it looked relatively futuristic nonetheless, with a red light set atop the receiver. "This is what we'll use to contact you if we can't spare the time or manpower to track you down. It's self-contained and portable, so you can take it to wherever Impetus is based. And with that, I think we're done here."

Re: Paradigm Shift: Monolith of the Rebellion
Monolith took the phone and made a mental note to have Sandstorm look it over the second they got outside. The leader of Impetus bowed his head and headed out of the building. The second he was outside, he turned to his team.
"Well, that's the first step I suppose."
