Azadar, looks around at Barrek and is stunned to see that he changed Barrek 2 into a woman. "Now that we got that figured out, we can decide upon a plan of action."

The vultures above fly a little lower, but just out of bow-shot.

"Such as what to do with this changeling?" As Barrek's radiant gaze turned away from the woman, she reverted to his form, indicating that the light from the wizard's eyes was showing her true form.

Barrek's suggestion wasn't what Azadar had in mind, but it was a matter that couldn't be ignored. "OK Barrek what do you suggest?"

"I was thinking we let her go," the changeling said in Barrek's voice.

"No, no, that won't do at all!" Barrek glared at the changeling, in doing so reverting her again back to her natural form.

Azadar asked Barrek "so you want to bring the changeling along? What about the other two" pointing at the drunk guy and [I forgot the description of the third/ too lazy to look it up] and the third guy who had been locked up in the cage as well.

"As much as I abhor the prospect of traveling with a criminal - "
" - I resent that - "
" - we don't seem to have much of a choice, do we? Where'd the other two go, anyway?" The others appear to have wandered away.

"Ah, but you don't deny it, my dear." Darrien says, addressing the Changeling. He stands up from where he has been casually leaning on his sword, and walks over to stand next to Barrek.

"Would you mind if I borrow some of this?" Without really waiting for an answer, Darrien taps Barrek on the temple beside his left eye, whereupon some (just a little) of the light jumps like a spark into Darrien's crystal arm, causing it to turn white and slowly glow brighter till it reaches a white like the blazing heart of a sun. Then it fades suddenly away.

"Thanks, Barrek; I've been needing to test out this arm, and that spell may come in handy. Now, if you could watch this prisoner, I'll go search for our missing friends. Azadar, if you can, keep an eye on those birds. I don't like the look of them either."

Darrien walks off sword in hand looking for the drunk man and the other. (He looks around what does he see? lol)

[By the way, our other criminal friends as they weren't ever very important have wandered into the wolves Numbers is sending our way. Unless one of you would like to take control of them, they're quite dead.]

"Yes I do." The changeling [It's not capitalized.] snapped. "I deny everything. Every last thing."

Barrek looked thoroughly nonplussed. Lorenzo grinned broadly. "I am not sure you know what that word means, milady."

(Took me a while to figure out that "Numbers" was me Shocked )

Azadar nods "Sure Darrian, but stay within earshot, things might get nasty."

The wolves were already full and made due with just tearing up the drunk guy and his friend[?] (unless someone wants the characters, they will be dead). The wolves then return to the path to catch the last few refugees, heading the direction of Azadar, Lorenzo, Barrek, Darrian, etc.

Darrien nods in response to Azadar as he walks away. A few minutes later he encounters the dead bodies of the other two prisoners. (Since no one wants them.) They appear to have been torn apart by something large and not particularly friendly. Darrien crouches down to examine the bodies and the surrounding area. He gleans nothing new from closer examination of the bodies, but the ground is a different story. Paw prints lead away from the bodies.

"Bloody Hell!" Darrien exclaimed, standing up. "This looks like it was done by those wolves the group was battling when I arrived; there must be more of them!" With that, Darrien turns and sprints back toward the group, hoping to warn them in time. Having stayed within ear-shot (hopefully), he calls out a warning as he runs.

"Oh good. I was just about becoming bored with this." Lorenzo unsheathed his cutlass and scanned the treeline for incoming wolves.

Barrek, deciding the changeling wasn't going anywhere, lent his magically-augmented vision to the task, searching for the telltale traces of magic that would indicate the modified wolves. Owing to the nature of his spell, anything he finds is displayed vividly to not only himself, but everyone around him.

The changeling, now reverted to her supposedly original form, began attempting to wriggle free of the chains.

While the wolves are sprinting to the main road (where the group is), a wolf hears the shouts of Darian. It decides to see who the noisemaker is...

The rest of the wolves continue on to the main road. When they arrive, they stay just off the road (in the bushes), so they aren't seen and continue along it towards our group.

Barrek swept his revealing spell along the treeline, when a colored light appeared. He focused his vision on that spot and intensified the spell, revealing one of the wolves. "There."

Darrien sees the first wolf emerge from the bushes to spring at the group, and reacts. Mindful of the wolf still chasing him, he pulls his small green spell book from a pocket inside his tunic with his left hand, and leaping nearly in time with the charging wolf, he withdraws his sword from its sheath on his back with his right.

As he jumps through the air, he looks down at his spell book, which, in the breeze, flips instantly to the page he desires. The Arcane Patterns inscribing themselves in his mind, he studies the book for only an instant, and then throws it aside. Gripping his overlarge sword in both hands, he raises it over his head, and calls out, "Zatsuken, Zamaran!" causing the sword to burst and crackle with electricity. He then brings the mighty cleaver straight down into the wolf's neck, severing its head with an iron curtain, and causing a blinding flash across the entire battlefield.

He then re-grips his sword in just his right hand, flipping over his blade, using the momentum to pull the sword out of the ground, and rolls up into a semi-defensive stance. Noticing the wolf's body twitching, he gestures in its general direction with his free left hand, and mumbles, "Maraut!" upon which, the entire thing bursts into flames.

Then, he re-grips his sword in both hands, and turns so that he can see both the wolf who was chasing him, and those that are emerging from the bushes. Without turning to look at his friends as he adopts his defensive stance, he says, "Be ready. I doubt the others will fall as easily as the first."

(President WIN, could you next time give the wolf a chance, by letting me post in the battle)

The rest of the wolves make their way towards the group. Two of them are going toward Barrek, another has taken interest in the changeling tied to a tree, and the remaining have split up the rest of the group (1 for each).

Darrien takes a slash at the wolf which approaches him, while moving backwards a bit to be closer to the wolves approaching the others.

Darrian's wolf is a bit more cautious with Darrian, seeing what he'd done with the first one. The wolf is walking just out of slash range, but ready to pounce should Darrian make a mistake...

Azadar tries to make himself a little more room to swing his sword, by slowly backing up. The wolf he is facing however isn't giving him the chance.

The changeling, noting the wolf, redoubled her efforts to escape. Getting one arm free, she flicked the dagger it held at the wolf's snout to encourage it to back off.

Lorenzo unsheathed his cutlass, holding it at the ready. "You and me, Fluffy. Come get some!" The cutlass hissed through the air and nicked the wolf's nose.

Barrek, arriving at the conclusion that fighting while outnumbered was unhealthy, lofted himself into the tree via a quick and rough spell, while he disengaged his revealing one. Figuring the wolves wouldn't trouble him for at least a moment (he was, after all, quite high up) he flipped hastily through his spellbook. Finding the page he wanted, he began the spell, murmuring to himself as he took a small bottle from a pouch on his belt.

The changeling's knife was of no use to it. The wolf knocked it aside as a show of power, sneering, or perhaps smiling at the changeling.

Lorenzo's wolf didn't much care for the nose it had, for as soon as it came off, the spell on it made it fly right back on. The wolf was angrier than before, and jumped on Lorenzo, aiming a deadly swipe at his head.

The two wolves who went after Barrek were trying to climb their way up. Of course, they weren't built to climb, and instead turned to kill other members of the group.

Azadar eyeing Barracks escape on the tree quickly gave note to the group that climbing would be a good idea. His wolf however was an equal match for Azadar, not allowing him to climb up the tree.

[Lorenzo didn't cut the nose off, just drew blood.]

The changeling took advantage of the wolf's stopping to (apparently) boast and slipped out of the rest of the chains.

Lorenzo stepped to one side, stabbing the wolf in the belly as he lunged past.

Barrek tossed down the bottle. It shattered, releasing its contents in a fine mist.

The changelings wolf seeing that the changeling freed itself, aimed a deadly swipe, meant to take of the changelings head.

Lorenzo's wolf decided to wait for its spell to heal it, while circling around him, waiting for an oppertune moment...

The changeling jumped off the trunk of the tree and over the wolf as it lunged. From midair she threw both daggers at the wolf, aiming for the base of the neck.

Lorenzo, having seen the wolves at work before, pressed his advantage and thrust his sword deep into the wolf's hindquarters.

The mist began to coalesce into a more solid-looking form.

The wolf effortlessly dodged the changelings daggers, and went chasing after her.

Lorenzo's wolf stepped back after the thrust and decided to wait for its magic to heal it.

The two wolves at the base of Barreks tree turned to face the solid form (assuming it represents a creature).

Darrian's wolf however is paying attention and makes use of its advantage to jump onto Darrian.
