Re: Dark Days of Albion
(I did.)Sirius Lupin wrote:"Your uncle's not dead, Raven." Merlin says. "He's still alive and healable, as is our rather rude friend over here."
Merlin goes over to Drostan and Phoenix and heals both of their wounds.
"Let's go see where Arthur is going," Merlin says and walks off after the two boys.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
You follow Merlin and see Arthur and Lancelot presenting the sword to a tall, dark haired young man dressed in chainmail. On top of the chain mail is a black cloth that looks much like a shirt with the emblem of a navy wolf on it.
The man's eyes widened as he was presented the sword. "Arthur, did you draw this from a stone?" he asks the boy.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
"The sword in the stone," An elderly man says, coming into view. He was dressed in red silk robes and had a bushy white beard, which was attached to his crew-cut white hair. He looks at the dark-haired man and says, "Cei, did you draw it?"
"No, I didn't, Father." Cei says. He looks at Arthur and says, "This sword was drawn by Arthur here."
"Nonsense!" the old man says. "Cei, you must've drawn it! Arthur's not strong enough for such a task!"
The old man turns around to the crowd and shouts, "Everybody, the Sword in the Stone has been drawn! All hail King Cei, my own son!"
"But it's true, Father!" Cei says. "Arthur drew the sword from the stone!"
"I still don't believe it." the old man- Sir Ector- says as people gather begin to gather around the group.
(Guys, do you want to interject. After all, you did witness Arthur pulling the sword out of the stone.)

"You see, father?" Cei says to Ector.
"What's going on here?" another young man says, walking up to the group. He was clad in chain mail with a light blue cloth that had the emblem of a white lion on it.
"This doesn't concern you, Bedivere!" Ector says sternly. He turns to Drostan and says, "Do you have proof that Arthur drew the sword?"

"I can't accept that for an argument." Ector says.
"But father, Arthur was the one who drew the sword from the stone." Cei says.
"Nonsense. Long live King Cei!" Ector says.
"But Arthur was the one who drew the sword. So it's long live King Arthur!"
"Cei, please stop lying by telling me it was your brother who drew the sword from the stone."
"You know," Bedivere interjects. "There is a way we can prove Cei's claim. If Arthur drew the sword from the stone once before, then he can do it again. After all, that stone is enchanted so only the next King of England could pull it."
"That sounds like a fine plan." Merlin says. He turns to look at the party and says, "What do you guys think?"

"Then let's head back to the Churchyard!" Merlin declares.
You follow the crowd and Merlin to the the Chuchyard. There, Ector puts the sword back into the stone and then pushes Cei towards it. Cei pulls on the sword for a little while- it is evident that he is pulling with all the strength he can muster. Yet the sword would not budge.
"You see, Father?" Cei asks while he was returning to his father. "I did not pull the sword from the stone!"
More knights go up and try to pull the sword out of the stone to no avail.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
Drostan, feeling obligated to try, strained at the sword for nearly ten minutes before he gave up.

Elvia rolled her eyes and smiled. It was nice to see Drostan was felling himself again.

[Felling, when used as a verb, means knocking something over, e.g. felling a tree.]

Re: Dark Days of Albion
[Evidently not.]
Drostan deemed the sword temporarily irretrievable and backed down.

"Come on, people!" Cei says. "Give my brother a chance!"
"I agree." Bedivere says. "After all, it is apparent that no one else will pull the sword out."
"NONSENSE!" Ector says. "Arthur is too skinny for such a task!"
"Be quiet!" Merlin says.
"I'm only speaking the truth!" Ector says.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
"He's the only one here who dinnae yet have his chance, let the lad have his turn, old man!" Drostan said.
Re: Dark Days of Albion
"You heard the Scot!" Cei said. "Let Arthur try."
"If Arthur did it once," Bedivere says, "he can do it again!"
"Go on, brother," Cei says to Arthur, nudging him forward. "Show Father the truth in your claims."
Arthur nervously steps forward, reaches towards the sword, grasps its hilt, and pulls back...
And successfully pulls the sword out.
"Long live King Arthur!" Cei and Bedivere shout in unison before bowing to the boy.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
Raven and Merlin follow suit, as does the rest of the crowd.
Well, everybody except for one...
"This is unheard of!" Ector shouts. "There is no way a boy is going to rule a place like England!" He looks at Arthur and a malicious look falls over his face. "Enjoy your kingship, milord," he says the word 'milord' with disgust, "for it won't last long. Come along, Cei."
He pulls Cei up and begins to walk away.
"No." was Cei's reply.
"Excuse me?" Ector says in an angry tone.
"No." Cei replied once again. "Arthur is the rightful King of England. What you're suggesting is treason. And for the record, because of how you treated Arthur while we were growing up, you are no longer my father."
"Very well, then. May you burn with the rest!" Ector replies.
He hops runs out of the Churchyard. He hops on his horse and gallops away.

Re: Dark Days of Albion
Drostan grumbled something less than complimentary about Ector and what he does with his mother. "Pay him no mind, lad," he said to Arthur.
