Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Julios smiled. "Well, I can see that. But what I meant was what is a woman like you doing in a rough part of town like this?" he says.
Meanwhile, back in the cave, Octavion and Anastasia spend their time sparring with one another- and therefore, become closer as a mutual respect for one another grows.

"The Rusted Sabre brews the best mead in town. It's worth the risks of passing through."
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
"How much mead have you drinken?" Julios asks. "Last time I checked, this tavern was called the Lazy Cow."

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn, through the window, noted the plaque outside that proclaimed the tavern The Rusty Sabre and pointed at it.
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
"Oh yeah. That's right. They just changed the name." Julios says, turning back to his drink. He takes a swig and then turns back to Dezenn and says, "So, what do you do for a living?"

"Tailoring. Made this myself, for example." Dezenn gestured at the dress she was wearing. "What about you?"
[Um, it's still Dezenn, not Teren. Just saying.]

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
(Whoops. Typo. It's fixed.)
"That is a nice dress." Julios says. "As for what I do for a living. I'm a mercenary. I was summoned here to help my client deal with a personal issue."

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn tilted her head to one side, curious. "Who's this client of yours?"
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Julios paused and quickly thought up a cover story. "My client is a wealthy local merchant who is being harassed by an organization of thugs. I'm here to protect him from it."

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn fixed the man with a knowing look. "You don't have to lie, you know. I won't tell anybody who shouldn't know."
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
"You look on this side of the tavern and I'll check out that side of the tavern" Sir Edmund suggested as he and David entered the tavern [the one with Dezenn and Julios].
"No, I'll go that way and you go that way" corrected David, ignoring Sir Edmund's protest. Sir Edmund walks over in Dezenn's direction (however he doesn't know how she looks).
"Bar tender, a drink please, the strongest stuff" Sir Edmund ordered, settling in the chair (or spot) next to Dezenn.

"I wasn't lying," Julios states, although he once again lies.

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Julios just notices Sir Edmund. "Incompetant fool." he mutters before paying for his drink, and then paying for the drink of the knight. He whispers, "You owe me for this." to Sir Edmund before walking out.
Before he leaves, he notifies the other guards that- based on how interested Dezenn seemed to be in this 'client' of his- the person he was talking to may actually be one of the people they are looking for. He then walks out of the tavern and, once he was certain Dezenn was out of eyeshot, he ran at full speed back to the prison.
Meanwhile, Octavion and Anastasia have decided to get out of the cave. Notirt presents them each with gifts. To Anastasia, he gives a long yew-bow and a quiver that never runs out of arrows.
And to Octavion, he gives a magical longsword that is made of silver and iron, with lightning running up and down the blade. There is a blue sapphire engraved in the base of the hilt and the sword. Apparently, this sword has the power to alert Octavion to nearby trouble by glowing silver whenever danger is near (and yes, it is like Sting from Lord of the Rings. I am not creative when designing magic weapons.)
Octavion and Anastasia thank the River Spirit and walk over to the hole in the cave's floor that is where the entrance to the river is located. They jump right on in and are quickly swept away by the current.
After drifting in the river for a while, the pair are washed up on a shore about a mile or so from the town.

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn looked disapprovingly after the departed man, then at the now-drunk knight. She shook her head disdainfully.
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
"Im Knigh-t yu kno" slurred Sir Edmund. Clearly he has had one too many drinks, which in turn loosened his tongue "Bet yu don kno why Im her."

Octavion and Anastasia begin to walk to the town and reach the entrance to the sewers, which they enter to sneak past the guards posted at the gate leading to the town.

Sir Edmund ignores Dezenn as well, or rather he is acting like he is ignoring her.

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn, owing to the man's drunkenness, was able to notice that he was paying attention to her. Brilliant. She set down the mug and got up to leave, not wanting to put up with that. The Greeks would have to find her later.
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
On the other side of the tavern, David spots Dezenn and starts trying to get to her pushing people and chairs out of the way "STOP! Knight, that's her! Julios do something."
Sir Edmund giggles and collapses on his chair, much to David's chagrin.

Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
Dezenn swore to herself and ducked into the shadows as David's shoving started a bar brawl that provided her with even better cover in which to get away. Hunched down and staying out of the writhing, swearing tangle of limbs and alcohol fumes that the tavern had been mostly filled by, she headed for the door as fast as she could.
Re: Trolls and Trinkets 2e
David takes out his long sword to give the brawl participants incentive to move "Alright, move in the name of the law or I'll lock you up and throw away the key!" (rolling to see how effective that threat is with the drunk crowd)
