[It's fine, Pokémon speaking is as you say, well-known. To us, at any rate. Also I assumed we all went inside. At any rate this is variable-DM, you don't have to consult me for absolutely everything.]

"Did your Pokémon just talk?" May, Serena and Desmond said simultaneously. May recovered herself quickly and produced a Poké Ball. "Gible! Stop them now!" The Gible from earlier leapt between Riolu and Jack and stood facing the speaking Pokémon, teeth bared in an inviting grin. A moment later from the Poké Ball, Gible was joined by an Altaria.

[A Blind Guy]

"Oh crap, that was your gible?" Jack asks.

[Flagmauth]

"Yeah, why?" May said, not seeing the relevance. Her confusion showed in her expression.

[A Blind Guy]

"No reason." Jack says trying to hide his nervousness about what just happened with riolu and the gible.

[Flagmauth]

May blinked, but didn't catch on. Gible, for its part, didn't care that Jack had tried to catch it; Quilava hadn't been fast enough to do it real damage and besides, the guy was entertaining in a way that reminded it of its own Trainer.

"Sorry dude but I have too." Riley says as the response caught Riolu off guard.

"Do what?" it asked confirming that it could in fact speak. Riley had pulled out the pokeball that riolu was put in back at the gym and this caught the pokemon off guard. "YOU CHEATING-" Riolu said but was cut off before finishing by being recalled into th pokeball.

"That was close but when Riolu gets out, he will undoubtably destroy the pokeball first chance he gets." Riley says as he gets up. He looked at the group and saw their stunned faces. "What your pokemon can't talk with you?" he asked like he was used to the fact.

[A Blind Guy]

" no, mine can't." Jack says with a sigh of relief.

[Flagmauth]

"Well, yes but - " Serena started, then stopped. "Not in the same language!" she finished, as if Riley had somehow violated some sort of law by owning a speaking Pokémon.

"Where have you been finding your pokemon?" he asked with a curious look in his eyes that said that he thought all pokemon talked human languages.

"Can we get back on topic please?" Asks Rob

May, who had recalled Swablu, spoke up. "Yeah, you guys were talking about an earthquake?"

[By the way Bob, if you want another plunger we're in a house.]

"Oh right, saving millions of lives right." Riley says walking to stand beside May as he smiled. "You look like a young vampire." he says before turning away and having a coughing attack.

Now it was Jack's turn to facepalm at what Riley just said, even he knew when to shut his trap.

[Flagmauth]

May heard "millions of lives" and as a result managed to completely ignore the slight on her dentition. "What? Hold on, how big of an earthquake are we talking here?"

Desmond privately noted that the next time he spoke to May he'd first say something like that and then call her Fangs, so as to avoid being punched.

"Listen, we have intel that could save whole regions. We need your help. Mind giving us a ride?" Riley asked trying to not answer the question completly.

[Flagmauth]

"Whole regions?!"

Riley groaned as he looke at the girl.
"We need a ride. Want to give us one to save some regions?" He asked the fanged girl.

[Flagmauth]

"How in the name of Arceus do you expect me to believe you and even if I did, what are you going to do about it?!"

"We got the intel from a PI controlled gym and we are going to get to ground zero... Uh the most likely place where they start an earth quake that can and will destroy the whole region, killing millions." Riley tries to explain their current plan before Riolu broke out of his Pokeball.

"If you think that I'm not supposed to talk the why am I talking right now?" The Riolu asked the group and it seemed that he was calmer than when he went inside the Pokeball.

[Flagmauth]

"Pokémon...just don't talk." Serena said, more or less at a loss to try to explain it.

"And you're going to do what exactly once you get there?" May asked.

"We haven 't got that far since our pokedexes died on us."

"We have to go with what we got." Riley said as Riolu growled and looked at Serena with an annoyed glare.

"Well get used to one talking. Because I'm going to get you used to having a talking Pokemon." The Riolu said with a hint of anger.

[A Blind Guy]

"Ok, nice to know they can talk. Now Riley, can you or riolu explain what the hell just happened after the smoke turned red?" Asks Jack.

Riolu gave a 'I will kill you' glance for three seconds before the look disappeared.
"It couldn't be him. The man that left you for dead Riley, he would be an old man by now." Riolu says towards Riley who gave a sigh of relief. Riolu walked over to Jack and jumped onto his shoulder. "Listen Jack, those dark red bolts of aura tell us that you did or saw something that makes you feel guilty and scarred for the rest of your natural life, but it could be that you are holding an important secret." Riolu says shrugging while balancing on Jack's shoulder. "Can't tell either but it doesn't matter to me. I'm only gunning for the man that left Riley for dead in the mountains when he was only five. He is lucky that we, the Riolus and Lucarios, found him first."
