While the group figures out what to do, at the temple, reports/ rumors arrive that the sword has been smuggled out through the eastern gate.

More guards arrive at the blacksmith "this is your last chance to surrender!"

seeing the smelters around the shop, Smoldar focuses his will on one or two of them, the molten liquid from with in rises up from the smelters. Smoldar then turns the molten metal into baseball sized chunks, whereupon he hurls a barrage of them at the surrounding guards. showering them with hot, sticky, metalic, goodness.

"Hows this for a surrender!!!" Smoldar yells to the guards.

The guards pull back after some of their comrades are roasted. However, they stay close.

Smoldar blasts a way through the back of the shop, opening a way into another alley.

A man, presumably the shop-owner stood just outside the back. He was red with anger "HEY! You better pay for vandalizing my shop! GUARDS OVER HERE!"

Unfortunately for the shop owner the first person to come through his door was not a guard but a elf
He looks around the shop seeing the damage
"Quite the mess you've made"

"Don't be ridiculous" The shipowner snaps "they [pointing at former prisoners] did it!"

Meanwhile guards came running around the shop.

"I'de love to stay and chat but sadly, I must depart." Smoldar says before jumping up in the air, releasing a concentrated burst of flame under his feet, propelling him onto a nearby roof and he starts running.

"Evening officers" the elf says. He looks at the shop clerk "I'm trying to find some-"

One of the Guards cut him off "COME OUT OF THERE. THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING"

The elf looks to the group and then back to the guards "Lively town you have here"

The guards know they can't keep up with Smoldar and instead begin to circle the remaining prisoners "drop your weapons!"

"you can drop yours first" the elf turns towards the guards. With a swing of his staff the elf teleports the guards weapons to a point 10 feet above them

(only applies to the guards around him at the moment)

Smoldar pulls out his dagger, and tries to jump attack a guard from the rooftop (going to roll fo rjump attack)

The guards stare at their hands and look wildly around. Upon spotting their weapons above their heads they put on their WTF expressions "you there! This is serious police business. If you don't immediately return the weapons to us we will be forced to report you and you can end up spending the rest of your life behind bars."

The elf shrugs "Better men than you have tried and failed" he turns back to the shoe owner "Do you know of any magic stores around here?"

Smoldar's jump attack does quite well, effectively killing the guard he attacked. Along with an unexpected jump attack the guard's weapons began to fall. The guards who weren't too badly injured by that found that their miserable wage wasn't worth hunting two mages at once. So they did what any sane person in such a situation would do..."RUN!"

One of the guards who at the start of the blacksmith siege had run to the temple, reported to David the situation.

"Oh for heaven's sake, must I do everything!" David growled. He walked over to the guards stationed at the temple, instructing half to go with him and the other half to keep the temple closed "Mage! You are coming as well. They have a fire wizard with them and I don't have the time right now to find someone else."

The elf notices a lack of guards. Presumably scared of his sorcery.

David and his guards are making their way through the streets from the temple in the direction of the blacksmith.

"For Ardour's sake, I can't be expected to track down this killer if I'm being hauled across town! Make up your mind, Constable!" the mage snapped, irritated.

"Well considering that these prisoners escaped at the same time as the killing, they are probably the culprits" David responded "they do after all have a mage amongst them."
