Jack ripped a pice of bread and ate it and through aputh full he said " it going to get us out of here" jack opens the small bag and pulls out a small box and a small square bag.

"Quiet in there!" David yelled, showing Anastasia into the cell. He didn't notice the box even though it was in front of him "I can barely hear myself think!"

David meanwhile went up to his office "I need some volunteers to go down to the dungeon and keep order down there. I am going to be busy with this @#$@! paperwork...[crickets]...No one?...You and you. GO!"

Two guards picked up their spears and ran down to the dungeon as fast as their feet could carry them.

"Not much to hear." Smoldar calls back. He begins to fiddle with his lock.

"Hey jack, you got a dagger in there?" he asks.

The lock to the chain after some fiddling, turns out to have been used a lot. In other words, it breaks open...Smoldar can use his fire magic again. The guards don't seem to have heard anything.

David meanwhile is across the street, sitting in his house doing his paperwork.

This chain is of the newer kind, with a more intricate locking mechanism (your call if it opens).

Outside it was getting dark, not that it mattered for the cell occupants [after all the cell has no windows], but they could hear the distinctive patter of rain. A tall figure strode down to the town's temple. The priest greeted the stranger as he went into the temple of the River Goddess.

"Blessings be upon you" the priest said to whom he assumed was a tired traveler. The stranger was yet another of the many travelers coming through the town. More than usual the priest thought.

"Spare me your empty words" the tall stranger said in a commanding voice "you though that you could hide it from me. Give it to me!"

"You! You betrayed my order. We swore to keep the artifacts hidden. Good thing we did" The priest said, gathering divine magic in his hands. Unfortunately, the stranger was one step ahead of him. Within seconds, the priests blood was turned into stone.

"I know where the artifact is Deron" the stranger seemed a little upset/sad that his rival was gone "You always thought the world would change for the better by itself. We both know that is fiction. If you want to make the world into paradise, you've got to do it yourself."

Before the stranger left, he left the spectators who were his underlings with instructions on how to handle the priests death.

Smoldar looks up at the 2 guards.

"Oh, hello there officers." he says with a wolfish smile.

suddenly his hands lash out and the fire from the surrounding torches fly into his open palms.

The guards who had been in a drowsy state immediately became aware of their surroundings. They stood a good distance away from the mage and felt comforted that prison bars separated them from the fire mage "Hey YOU! What happened to your chain?"

The first guard opens the door while the other has his sword at the ready "I am going to give you new chains. Put them on and no-one will get hurt."

Smoldar laughs to himself before thrusting his hands out, sending the ball of fire at the guard with the sword drawn...

Smoldar's aim would have been true, but ir misses the guard with the sword, because just then the guard who had unlocked the door stood up. He got himself quite a nice tan.

The guard with the sword decides to charge at Smoldar.

"STOP!" Another guard says as he runs downstairs with a sword in his hand.

"Julios!" Octavion says to the arriving guard. "Long time, no see, brother."

Meanwhile, Anastasia manages to pick the lock on her cell.

The guard with the sword stopped "Julios, thank Ocmontoc you are here. These prisoners are trying to escape and one can do sorcery."
