Something was wrong. Where magic was being drained, there was also something powerful in the air (magically speaking). Whatever it was, it was alive and slowly increasing in power.

"Sir, something is wrong here"

"You don't say" David snapped.

"No I mean something is draining magic from the surroundings. From over there to be exact."

David finally looked outside. Amongst the increasing strength of a storm, there was a ray of light, vertically pointing up "$#@!. Can't magic users ever try to control their spells. Guards arrest these people and bring them to questioning. I need to apprehend whomever is responsible for this mess before people get hurt."

That said a small stone came hurtling through the doorway almost hitting David. The winds were strong indeed.

Four guards came up to the assembled group to arrest them. David had to hurry out to whatever caused the havoc in an attempt to stop it.

One of Mira's spiked adamant tentacles looped around the spear and pulled it out of the soldier's grasp.

"I believe further antagonizing that young woman or her companions may be a bad idea..." Balthasar rumbled, sounding amused at the expression on the guard's face. Mira's expression was still impassive.

The guards decide to run, not being as stubborn as David. That left the trackers standing at the doorway.

David meanwhile approached the Truth temple, the source of the disturbances. He entered the temple. Inside, glass panes were aligned in patterns all seemingly leading to the same spot. Wind was making his trek to reach the interior of the temple quite difficult.

Another gust high velocity gust of wind howled the moment David responed. Probably for the best anyway. David, Aaron and presumably others found in the middle of the temple a dark purple orb. It was as if something was inside, watching the group and growing ever more powerful. There was a lot of magic concentrated into one spot.

David swung his sword at the orb. The orb, being a magical construct used its magic to fling David back to the group. Without waiting for the results, the orb launched a barrage of magic bolts in the groups direction.
