In the sky, some grey birdlike creatures over flying and then circling over the group. Like vultures over their prey...

"Unfortunately I...we didn't think about that there was 'evil' magic. That must be why you were attacked by the orb. We will be sucked back soon though, but I fear that we are in unfriendly territory."

The shapes that had been flying above head, were flying lower now. They were recognizable as harpies, creatures that had been thought to have dissapeared eons ago. According to lore these creatures were evil, and along with other evil creatures had been thrown into another dimension after they lost Great War to humans and their allies. Ancient history, but nonetheless...

"That should'nt be a problem. We don't belong to this dimension and already our magical ties to the home dimension are strengthened. Eventually we will be hurled back. According my calculations, where I let x be..."

"HOW LONG?!?!" David interrupted. He was in no mood to listen to a mathematical lecture. He took out his sword and started polishing it with the intended effect of intimidating the mathematician. It did.

"...anyway I'm sure you don't want to know how I calculated it. We will be hurled back in 16 hours and 23 minutes." Mathew looked at David hoping he had kept his speech short enough.

Meanwhile along the treeline unbeknownst to the group, goblins had been alerted by their harpies that there was prey. The goblins were under the command of ogres, who also hid with them (perception check anyone?). They were baffled by the appearance of humans. Humans? Well, their warlord would love to have pet humans.

Aaron bearly notices the goblins. He immediately picks up his staff and takes out his sword in a defense stance "We're not alone here"

A arrow was shot narrowly missing Aaron. Then another was shot, this time landing closer to Balthasar. Goblins were charging at the group.

Aaron slames his staff into the ground. Lightning arced over the ground hitting the goblins and stunning them

The only problem was that there were way too many goblins. They flew/glided over their unfortunate comrades and kept coming "I think it would be better if we got out of here."

David and Mathew run after Aaron. The goblins follow, running behind the group lusting for flesh. Ahead of the group, the path diverged. One side was mountainous, the other was surrounded by yet more grey evergreens.

"Into the forest morons" David said. He wasn't enthusiastic about climbing the mountains with armor and sword "We can better hide in the forest."

"I'd guess the mountains would be less populated and thus we'll less likely run into unfriendly creatures" Mathew replied.

David was about to argue again, until a arrow almost hit him, lodging itself on a pine-tree almost a meter away from him. Needless to say, the arrow was quite persuasive in making David run with the rest of the group.

Up ahead was what seemed to be a border post, rudely constructed of wood and spit. Guarding the border were two goblins, who had their spears crossed in a "X" to warn any trespassers they were entering their territory. The goblins hadn't seen the group yet...

The goblins at the post were essentially fried by the lightning. Their spears clattered to the ground.

Behind the group, the goblins were gaining, with the help of their wings. While they cannot fly, they can jump and glide far. The harpies were circling the group, wanting to watch them get shredded to bits.

"It seems that we're in a different territory. Perhaps if we could find another goblin army, it would not take too kindly to what appears to be an invasion" Mathew suggested.

As the group continued to run, there was the continues emptiness around. Rocks, hills, occasional evergreen, and more rocks. In the distance, there were wooden palisades as the only unusual feature in the barren land.
