Oh okay but still hungry doesn't trade with the HRE or Naples yet so he wouldn't get any trade from them and hungry it's self doesn't have any real ports of note so they have very little income from the sea.

And for the future frenchie you don't control the pope I do but he does like you guys a lot more then any body else so you do have so sway with him.

How would Papal elections work in this RP?

Well there are 13 cardinals and when the pope dies one of them become the new pope and some country's have more then one and one cardinal gets a vote so if a nation have 5 cardinals the. That country gets 5 votes out of the 13 so they almost win and the pope elects the cardinals.

Well, since the majority of the cardinals are Italian and the HRE currently controls the most populous part of Italy, doesn't Frenchie essentially get to pick the Pope?

Also, who is the Pope?

The pope at this time is Sylvester the 1st but he will die soon.

And frenchie doesn't control the pope I do he just has a lot of sway with him and the pope can get rid of cardinals at any time and put in new ones from other country's if he wants. And I control the cardinal from all the other NPC country's I'll give you a list of the cardinals.
