Upon hearing their supply options, the rebels agree to switch paths and head for a mountain where they could defend themselves if necessary.

Along the way, they raid some fiefs and inspire a small crowd of Greeks to join them, though they still do not have a sizable force to take the Ottomans head-on.

After a journey, they finally reach their destination in the mountains in the east. Unfortunately, the writer died from the beatings the Ottomans gave him. The revolutionaries- full of grief- build a small, temporary tomb for his corpse until they could give him a proper burial.

After the burial, they begin building a makeshift fort.

A small group of Austrian soldiers arrive (10), though technically they are not from the Austrian army. They don't have a uniform, but it's pretty obvious. They offer to train the rebels.

The Ottomans are happy to leave the rebels with their fort. They won't be able to do much from there anyway...

The Resurgents establish that Beijing will remain the capital of the new China. With most of the nation fed up with the Europeans and the Emperor's failure to deal with them, their rule isn't questioned terribly. They aren't well-liked by any stretch but their goal is something that the Chinese people can get behind.

Resurgent agents swarm the coastal European-controlled cities, calling to the people from street corners and rooftops. Nobody has raised a hand yet against the "invaders" but it begins to be increasingly unsafe for a white man to be out on his own in certain parts of cities like Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Unfortunately for the Chinese, that is about as bad as it gets in the cities. The European, despite not granting the Chinese local rule do trade with them, making the most prominent of the Chinese very rich. However in the countryside, support is available.

Tibet doesn't like the Emperor dead and chooses one of its own, claiming that the Chinese gov't is "illegal".

In Greece, the Austrian regiment is busy teaching the Greeks how to even load a gun. Progress is extremely slow and the Ottomans have decided that the camp of Greeks weren't really a threat.

The French revolution has turned into something nasty. Think guillotines, protests, gunfire and all the things belonging to a revolution. Robespierre, leading the revolution is highly popular in France.

Italians and French meanwhile grieve as the Pope died. Spain is sending its condolences to the Church and the USA does likewise [Papal candidates anyone?].

Scandinavia has been building a rail-network stretching from Oslo to Stockholm and then going into neighboring Denmark. The Germans are also starting to develop networks for their railroads, trying to connect Berlin with its rich western Rhine valley.

The Tripolitan pirates don't do much, letting Aztlan have fun watching its harbor. Pirates from other north African cities are plundering the Mediterranean. Several vessels have already been captured/enslaved and the vessels auctioned. Spain is meeting with the Iberian alliance (Aztlan, USA, Cuba, Puorto Rico, Jamaica, Portugal, Morocco, and Spain) to discuss steps to end the piracy. Spain suggests sending an ultimatum to the Ottoman Empire to remove the pirates or have the Iberian alliance do it for them.

The Hegemon personally writes a letter supporting the Barcelona Plan. More ships of the Ilhuitl Caate depart from Veracruz and Cancun, Nualaz not having been fully integrated into the Aztec navy's shipping systems.

The USA doesn't have much to spare in the way of military, but sends a small force to Morocco. Morocco stations its troops along the Ottoman border, soon joined by Spanish troops/ships. Portugal doesn't want to be part of the operation and neither does Cuba or Jamaica. The Spanish suggest a land invasion across northern Africa, in an attempt to get to Tripoli and shutting down the worst pirate nests along the way should these steps become necessary. A ultimatum is sent to Istanbul requesting removal of pirates. The Iberian Alliance would be happy to help.

No response comes from the Ottomans. After a month and a half of waiting.

The Japanese start an effort alongside Germany and Scandinavia to map the worlds oceans. Germany had earlier with Scandinavia finished the Pacific. Maps are displayed in Stockholm and Berlin.

The Aztec ships impose a blockade on Algiers, Tunis and Tripoli to stop pirate traffic.

The Aztecs find that their blockade stretches thinly and pirates easily avoid the Aztec ships. The pirates were relying on speed and their knowledge of the coastline to avoid the heavier Spanish and Aztec ships.

Spain sends one more warning to the Ottoman Empire about them forcibly cleaning up North Africa with or without Ottoman permission. Spanish, Moroccan and troops from the USA gather in Morocco.

The pirates in Tunis manage to destroy the blockade in front of their city, either burning or capturing the ships. The pirates in Tunis it seems have a brilliant commander.

In Algiers, the opposite is true. In an attempt to break out, the pirates find themselves outgunned. While most are able to get back to the safety of the harbor, they know that they will stay in the harbor for a while.

In the largest pirate nest (AKA Tripoli), the pirates manage to batter the blockade pretty badly. The Tripolitans are continue their piracy, but also suffered some losses.

When Aztlan attempts to bombard Tripoli it finds larger, and nastier cannons along the harbor, some of them lashing out at the ships causing massive damage.

Algiers doesn't do as well. Having failed to break through the blockade they are now rained upon by cannonballs. While nothing serious is damage at the moment, the pirates of Algiers will have to do some repairing on some of their ships.

Spain is considering marching into Ottoman territories, now that the Ottomans failed to respond to the second warning. Spanish, South American and Moroccan troops are stationed along the border.

The Iberian alliances troops make their way towards Algiers, in constant contact with the Spanish navy which is currently outside Algiers range. Spain wants to strike the city at the same time as the land force and would like Aztlan and for that matter Russia to help.

In Madrid, the Iberian Alliance meets to talk about how to trie the pirates, what to do with released prisoners, wether or not to hand back Algiers to the Ottomans, and a whole row of other related issues.

Algiers, a proud city to the pirates. Excepts, that now it was surrounded by the Iberian Alliance's forces. Marmadukes had ridden out to confront the land army while the pirates stayed on the defensive on their harbor. Where Aztlan had failed to take over the harbor, Russia was doing some serious damage for the time being. However, Algiers's cannons were located along the harbor...
The land forces of the Iberian Alliance were doing well. The Marmelukes were hardly disciplined and despite their superior number, the Spanish troops were busy shredding them up. The Moroccan part of the army was less disciplined and suffered some casualties.

The Ottoman gov't demands that the Iberian Alliance + Russia pulls out.

The Ottomans manage to crush another wave of protests in Greece. Greek opinion of the Ottoman Emp. is at all time low.

Russia refuses to pull out until the Ottomans do something about the pirates.

Meanwhile, the Greek rebels continue their training, with some scouts finding some people fleeing the Ottomans and guides them back to the camp to train them.

The marmelukes who'd tried defending their beloved Algiers were mostly dead or running back to the city. The Spanish and Moroccan troops had given the defending army a bad beating. Spanish troops now ready their artillery to blast their way into the city. Already, the once beautiful wall is being turned to rubble.

Inside, people are hiding or running and the whole city is a huge web of confusion. The pirates and their crews are trying to escape out of the harbor, while Spanish ships boldly steer towards the harbor where they are greeted by cannons placed along the harbor. One of the cannons gets a lucky shot and the front Spanish ships lights the sky. The other ships meanwhile focus on either attacking the harbor (focusing on the defensive cannons) or the pirates.

The Greeks in the Ottoman Empire again fail to do anything significant to the Ottoman forces leading to two effects. More public anger and less Ottoman troops (Greeks are deemed incompetent). The Ottomans have their army moved towards Tunis. Austria looks carefully at the developments in the Ottoman Empire.

Tibet's Emperor decides to send people into China, to see what is going on. Perhaps China will be a good potential ally.

Italy places troops in Egypt, namely around the unfinished Suez canal. The Ottomans don't particularly care. Austrians want to back the Greeks, Italians want to stay out of the potential conflict. A surge of Italian nationalism is felt on the Italian mainland.

Algiers falls to the Iberian Alliance and Russia. In the city they find formerly captured ships, loads of pirates (who are captured and brought on board the Spanish ship Eternidad, slaves (crews from captured ships), loot from the captured ships, Ottoman marmalukes (not pirates) hiding in their barracks, the leader of the pirates (also imprisoned), more loot and finally citizens hiding throughout the city fearing a crackdown. In Madrid, members of the Iberian Alliance and Russia are to discuss Algiers future and potential further military action against Tunis. The Ottomans are demanding that the armies leave.

The Spanish king is slowly dying. The German chancellor thus is in Spain and will be watching the meeting with deep interest. He suggests that Morocco annezes Algiers or that Spain administers it. The Ottoman will receive "fair" compensation.

The Spanish navy has some fixing to do and there are a good amount of Moroccan casualties. The Marmelukes and pirates fighting outside the city basically got wiped out and marmelukes and pirates in the city suffered heavy casualties.

Ottoman forces are moved to Tunis.

Russia says they should stay in Algiers until the Ottomans take more responsibility for their actions.

Russia demands the Japanese pull out of Persia immediately.

Meanwhile, in Greece, the rebels take advantage of the Ottoman Army moving out and begin to conduct guerilla warfare against the remaining Ottomans, while recruiting more people to their side.

Spain expands on Russia's idea. If the Ottomans help eradicate the pirates in Tunis and the other city (can't think of its name) then Algiers and its surrounding territories would faithfully be returned to the Ottoman Empire.

Japan claims to be helping the backwards nation of Persia develop itself and Japan is of course helping, as Asia's protector.

In Athens, one of the revolts managed to barge into the Ottoman administrative building and (brutally) kill the occupants. Athens is now under the control (momentarily) of rebel forces. Already the Ottoman troops are regrouping on nearby hills.
