"Such demands are absurd. Britain has suffered just as much during the war effort" the British ambassador points out.

France meanwhile wants Britain to remove their blockade. In return the French will return Belgium to its former glory. Britain will have to repair the harbors that they destroyed. The peace talks drone on, for every detail needs to be discussed.

The Aztec ambassador points out the wars were Britain's fault.

Germany sends spies to find this "holy grail". Germany demands that GB pays all countries damages, and takes full responsibility for the war.

Britain will help rebuild, but expenses will not be covered by the British.

Suddenly to Britain's satisfaction, a sucessful revvolt in France has been started. People are marching through the Parisian streets demanding that the French government needs new leadership. Sometimes the demonstrations turn violent.

The British colonies that Britain still have are found to be very loyal to the crown.

The search for the Holy Grail has one problem: the clues lead to a mosque. However only muslims are permitted to enter and neither the British and/or German (possibly Russian if another was sent) party are allowed to enter.

Some of the spies attempt to disguise themselves as Muslim converts, but first safely discard German symbols of rank and the like.

The Hegemony turns its attention to Nualaz and the French-speaking would-be separatists. Their army remains on standby to crush any violent opposition to Aztec rule. They continue to search for ways to remedy their ongoing labor shortage.

The Mosque throws out the disguised Germans warning them if they come back next time they will not be as lucky. The British, who are working alongside the Ottomans send in an Ottoman team.

The inhabitants of New Orleans would like to see more self-rule. They don't care under whose boot they are, but they'd like to make their own decisions about major issues.

Britain is experimenting with iron rails to carry coal from Wales to the hungry factories of London.

A Russian and a Spanish ship have been captured by pirates in the Mediterranean. Pirates based in Ottoman held Tripoli are getting increasingly aggressive.

France and Britain meanwhile draw up a treaty for peace
I. In regards to American Possessions:
A. France will fork over the midwest region to Britain in exchange for the British Canadian claims. France will also be returned New Foundland.
B. French and British colonists in either territory will be treated with respect and as citizens.
C. The French and British both have fishing rights in the Great Lakes and from the coast of Maine to New Foundland.
D. Britain will recognize the Union of South America.
II. Europe:
A. Britain will remove the blockade and help the French repair for the damage they've done.
B. France will release Belgium under their control and restore the monarch. The Princess will be married of to British royalty, a marriage which France shall recognize.
III. Africa:
A. All lands will be handed back to their respective owners.
IV. Aisa
A. All lands will be returned to their respective owners.
V. Other Stuff
A. The Straight of Gibraltar shall remain open to all nations. Spain retains the right however to tax ships passing through.
B. In the interest of freedom of seas, France and Britain will see any blockade as an action of war. France and Britain will respect any merchant ship of any nation as a non-combatant and will not inspect them (unless they have a blockade).

A new Pope is elected by the cardinal council. Leonardo Narni, who comes from a long line of Popes [see Cesare Narni C&CII]. Narni, who is also a powerful politician in Italy is already pushing to integrate the church in Italy to for a holy state. However first he plans to travel to Germany and see the royal marriage.

Crown Princess Maria arrives in Hamburg to marry the German Chancellor.

Spain approves of the peace treaty and signs it. France signs, Britain signs and the former British colonies [now known as the USA] also sign. Portuguese, Russia and Aztlan signatures still required to end the war.

While waiting for Russia and Aztlan's response the British move their troops in their former South American colony and station them in 13 colonies.

A merchant from Aztlan is captured in the Mediterranean by Tripolitan pirates. A Spanish ship is destroyed off of Malta, but survivors are rescued by the Italian navy, thus avoiding slavery.

Italian surveyors deem the Sinai peninsula a good place for a channel and start negotiating with the Ottoman Empire.

With the pirates in Tripoli, the AIE gov't starts paying tribute for the Ottomans to leave their merchants alone. Spanish efforts at ridding the Med of pirates weren't successful and they too are paying tribute.

The Hegemony's representative signs the Treaty of La Rochelle.

With the Ilhuitl Caate back under Aztec control, the Council decides a show of force is necessary to cement Aztlan's reputation as a global player. They refuse to negotiate anything with the Barbary Coast pirates, instead sending the Ilhuitl Caate through the Strait of Gibraltar with the intent of knocking some pirates' heads together to send a message.

The pirates are however well funded, ships well equipped and Tripoli is a fortress, inside the Ottoman Empire (AKA attacking Tripoli is like attacking the Ottoman Empire). The only thing that they lack is proper organization. The other pirate cities are not as well defended, but they might be a hassle to get at.

The Ilhuitl Caate doesn't plan to lay siege to Tripoli itself so much as interdict the movement of pirates along the trade routes Aztlan uses in the Mediterranean Sea to deliver goods to French and Austro-Italian (and Ottoman, for that matter) ports

The ships that stay along the coastline tend to not get raided as much as the ships that try to cross the Med (however travel time increased). However piracy remains high and the Italian and other governments found it much easier to just pay the tribute.

The Aztecs surmised that it probably would be easier but far less generally awesome. In addition to that, they're pirates, they haven't got the right to boss around a great nation like Aztlan.

All participants in the war have signed the treaty to end the war [I'm just going to say Russia signed]. British construction companies go to France as promised to repair their coastal towns, whilst making profits. The British treasury is low on money, but now they can make revenue off of France investing in their repairs.

Britain and Japan are negotiating over their war in Asia, where Japan took over the British Siamese possessions.

British colonists immediately move to settle the Midwest (they have done so secretly already). British troops from their former South American colonies move to the 13 colonies because they are closest on hand.

Britain discovers to their chagrin that iron rails don't do the trick when it comes to railroads due to rust forming readily on them. They are now turning to steel, having to buy from the multitude of Scandinavian steel processors and from private British companies producing limited amounts of steel in their own country.

The French have managed to get the citizens in order after "winning" the war.

Aztlan reinforces the Ring of Nualaz while the Ilhuitl Caate moves to known piratey places to blow some stuff up.

Britain "sells" Japan Siam for a reasonable amount of money. The Japanese are happy to do business.

France and Britain sign a defensive pact secretly. Britain fears German power in Europe and France fears being surrounded by enemies.

France starts building rails, buying a brunt of their supplies from (surprise!) Scandinavia. They figure that some infrastructure will make it easier to defend their country.

The search for the Holy Grail in Jerusalem points towards potentially France, Italy or Greece as good places to do some further diggin'.

Tripoli is a city that has a "perfect" position. It is surrounded by sandbanks, where not only canons can be conveniently placed, but large ships (such as European and Aztlan naval ships) have trouble getting into the harbor...at least unharmed. The pirates use that combined with smaller ships to fleet in and out of the harbor and use quick strikes on unsuspecting merchant ships. A larger ship bound for Istanbul slips out at the cover of night...

And runs straight into the Ilhuitl Caate squadron, which demands that it strike the Tripolitan flag and that it allow boarders.

The ship instead veers off to the side closer to the shore. The ships captain knows where every sandbank is and quickly makes his way away from the squadron.
