Simone ran over trying to place herself between the two men, attempting to diffuse the situation "OK, that's enough of that!"

[Helsing]

Jaron kept his anger in check and bowed to Simone "Apologies, but you work to get your rank in the IDF. Should someone insult that rank, you are taught your place."

[Sirius Lupin]

"How the hell was I supposed to know that?" Odysseus asks Jaron. "I'm not from your culture."

[Flagmauth]

"You mean you didn't think his first response to an insult might be to kick your ass?" Krista shook her head derisively. "That's pretty much every culture."

[Sirius Lupin]

"Well, how was I supposed to know that was an insult?" Odysseus says to Krista.

"Look, this was a big misunderstanding. No harm done." Simone said, glad that the situation hadn't escalated further.

"I would recommend the diplomatic approach to handling insults. If you want to learn your powers, you should also learn to control your temper" Malcolm added from the back of the room.

[Flagmauth]

"You mean so we don't lose control of them?"

[99luftballons]

"Loosing control of your powers leads to senseless incidents that could've easily been avoided" Malcolm answered "and more importantly they are a waste of government resources to clean up."

[A Blind Guy]

"Well I hope that the two of you get the powers of healing or something that won't kill the rest of us."

[Helsing]

"I doubt that any parent of mine would be able to heal. My mother isn't the kindest woman, nor is she the easiest to get along with. Any god that could gain her affections would have to do something to impress her." Jaron says.

[Sirius Lupin]

"I hope I can get it so that way, I can heal myself after getting my face smashed in." Odysseus says, glaring daggers at Jaron.

[Flagmauth]

"How do we find out what our powers are?" Krista asked, hoping to avoid any further interruptions by the two problem children of the group by keeping the discussion moving.

[A Blind Guy]

"I was wondering the same thing, how did you figure out what yours were?" Raizo asks.

[Sirius Lupin]

"And who is his godly parent?" Odysseus says, pointing to Malcolm.

Simone was glad that Krista had brought up her next talking point "That's an excellent question. You'll receive the training when we get to the Vienna Academy. Suffice to say unlocking your powers isn't difficult nor time consuming, but learning to control them takes practice and time."

Simone headed back to the front of the room, noticing that her ice dragon was melting. She picked it up and tossed it out the window, where landed in some bushes "The Vienna Academy is not the same place as the University. I'm assuming all of you know Harry Potter. In Harry Potter, there exists a separate wizarding world. For us there is also a separate world of demigods, geographically identical to our own. It is in this alternate Vienna, where you will learn to use and control your powers. In demigod circles we refer to it as the 'Arcane World'."

Simone almost felt bad for her audience. She'd gone and told them that one of their parents was an unknown god and now she'd just told them about alternate world of magic. After a brief silence Simone decided to continue "Malcolm works for the government to make sure that I don't abuse my powers in this world. He also carries a portal which will transport us to the academy."

Having finished her presentation Simone looked at Malcolm. He took out a ring from one of his pockets, mumbled something incoherent and drew a few symbols into the air. A brief moment later a portal appeared. Looking through the portal, it could be seen that it exited roughly 20 cm over a well maintained lawn. A several meters away from the portal's exit was a bigger white building; more of a mansion.

[Sirius Lupin]

"So this is the Academy, huh?" Odysseus asks.

[A Blind Guy]

Raizo walks up to the portal and slowly extends an arm through it, after seeing his arm pass through he cautiously steps through.

[Sirius Lupin]

Odysseus simply walks through the portal.

[Flagmauth]

Krista blinked once or twice, mentally recovering from the shock of the portal's appearance. Knowing magic was a thing for all of three minutes didn't do a lot to prepare you for seeing it in action. Given that Raizo and Odysseus didn't seem to have died screaming yet, she followed them apprehensively.

Simone followed the group through the portal, glad that she didn't have to persuade them to go through.

Like the portal had shown, the group appeared on a lawn. To the left of the portal stood a brown-haired woman, with a sword strapped to her back. She hugged Simone, and then smiled at the new arrivals "you must be Simone's most recent victims, eh? I'm Emma, head of your new housing unit."

Emma reached our her hand in greeting "so what are your plans? Unlock your powers or walk around or see your new quarters?"

[Sirius Lupin]

"Victims?" Odysseus asks. "Did you just say 'victims?'"

He is now wondering why he decided to come along.

Then he remembered the question. "Housing sounds good right now."

[Flagmauth]

"What kind of question is that? We have superpowers, how can we not start with that?!" The reality of the situation was beginning to sink in, replacing Krista's initial apprehension and confusion with excitement. At Odysseus, she rolled her eyes. "Relax, she obviously wasn't serious..." Honestly, the Russian was a complete idiot - fit in perfectly with his nation's stereotypical portrayal, really. By this point she half-expected him to pull out a flask of vodka.

[Sirius Lupin]

"Don't you think we should find out where we are going to be sleeping before we begin training?" Odysseus asks.

As much as he'd like to start, he'd like a tour of the place first. Just to get familiar with it. Why didn't the Finnish woman understand that?

[Flagmauth]

She shook her head emphatically, brushing back a strand of hair that fluttered forward with the motion. "In a word: no. In another: hell no."

[Helsing]

"I'd rather have a nice bed to sleep in." Jaron said.

"I've had quite enough surprises for one day."
