Jeff felt something hit his chest, but a second later he found himself right next to Wiess.

"Ow." Jeff said flatly. It had hurt. He promptly snagged his book from his backpack and was about to start reading when he noticed something. "Weiss, what happened to your eye?" he said, indicating the scar.

It wasn't exactly a fight, more of a curb-stomp. There wasn't a single student that could even lay a finger on Sinn. But that was to be expected. You don't become a teacher at Beacon unless you were amazing in some regard. He all but slapped Mark's bullet out of the air.

To which he responded by saying "Oh that is not fai-."

And then he didn't say anything as he was hit over next to Jeff. When he finally got up again, he noticed his two classmates against the wall.

"Hi Wiess."

"Hi Mark."

"Hi Jeff."

Jeff took the scroll and pocketed it. "Nah, I like people getting beat up if they deserve it or it's funny. This is just the teacher punching everyone once and Winchester's not even here or if he is I haven't seen him."

"Nope," Sinn says with a smile "My semblance simply allows my nerves and reactions to fire at four times the normal rate. What I used on you is an Aura Strike. Bad name I know but you can blame Oz for that."

Jeff thought that through. "So an Aura Strike just completely and instantaneously shuts down anyone and everyone's Aura...and therefore Semblance. Sounds pretty useful, then." He initially wanted to know why it wasn't something they knew already - then reflected, realized the whole point of Huntsmen and Huntresses was to fight Grimm, and at any rate prior to joining a proper Academy teaching children how to instantly bypass a human's natural defenses to tear them apart was actually a pretty damn poor idea.
