May, not very knowledgeable about Unova Pokemon, pulled out her Pokedex which identified it as a ground Pokemon (the Pokedex May had doesn't recognize shadow Pokemon). She was wondering why are all these shadow Pokemon were appearing and why. Could they possibly want to tell her friends as well as herself something?(???)

"So, shall we move out, fight it or try to befriend it?" asked May "keep in mind that shadow Pokemon are strong..."

"That they are, and they like to Hurt, or maim humans. We cannot Befriend shadow pokemon… We have to try to fight it." Luna looks at Pichu. She reaches into her pouch and sends out Rotom. "Rotom, I need you to distract them! Use Confuse ray!"

Venus releases all of her pokémon. "Okay! Let's end this quickly! I want to hurt these guys as little as possible!"

"Metang use confusion on the leader. Pawniard, lear at the group of normal Drilbur! Sigilyph, use hypnosis on the group of normal Drilbur! Let's see if we can keep them out of this. Solosis, use psywave on the shadow Drilbur!"

Wincing, Aaron sends out Togetic.

"Use metronome!"

Cotton Spore

A wave of white cotton balls wash over the Drilbur, slowing them down.

The normal Drilbur fall prey to the assault, but the one Aaron identified as a Shadow Pokemon stands strong and unleashes a blast of shadow energy, knocking everyone back. Wattson hits a wall, falling unconscious from the blow.

Stumbling up, Aaron sends out Pineco,

"Use Protect to keep Wattson safe!"

"Litwick, use Fire Spin! Golett, Mega Punch!" Dawn's two Pokémon entered the fray with their respective attacks aimed at the Shadow Drillbur.

May didn't have the time to see if the attacks hit (or had an effect). She instead was worried about the strength of shadow Pokemon. This thought led her to wonder aloud "How strong are shadow Pokemon?"

"Very strong May!" Luna says. Rotom is flying around the shadow Drillbur. "There's not much I can do guys, but I can do this! Slugma use ember!" She sends out Slugma and embers fly at the Shadow Drillbur.

"Alright! Let's combine attacks!" Luna yells back. She points at the Drillbur. "Slugma! Combine your ember with Turtwig's razor leaf!"

"You heard her Turtwig! Use Razor Leaf!" May yelled at Turtwig. Of course Turtwig was already doing Razor Leaf when Luna agreed to combine attacks.

(seizes control of story from David till he reappears.)

The shadow drillbur roars with anger and smashes into the wall of the sewer. It charges at Party frothing with anger. The smaller drillbur run in terror as if broken from a trance, and the flee down the tunnel.

"Togetic, quickly, use Yawn!"

The Toegetic lets out a cloud of white smoke, which envelops the raging Drilbur, which slows, it's eyes shifting slowly.

As he finishes, Aaron trips falling back.

"Get it, quickly!"

Golett and Litwick seized on the opportunity, launching a Shadow Punch and Fire Spin respectively.

Dawn, meanwhile, stopped to help Aaron back to his feet.

Luna gets an idea. "i'm going to throw a pokeball ans see what happens now!" she yells as her pokemon fight instinctively with the drilbur.

"It was destroyed remember?" Luna while she is digging around in her pack. She Grabs a potion and tosses it to May. "This'll have to do for now till we get out of these sewers!" She sticks her arm back in and pulls out a Friend ball. She Throws it at the Shadow Drillbur. "I hope this works!"

Aaron looks behind them, seeing something huge and blue rolling towards the group.

May is just standing there watching the wave. She then grabs Turtwig and begins to run the other direction, not really paying any attention to if the rest of the group is following her.

(Heck of a way to make a comeback, Dave)

"Well. This looks rather dire." Venus' voice drips with sarcasm. Looking around at her Pokémon, she says, "Well, I think those two have the right idea. Let's run. My friends, use your psychic powers to propel everyone forward as much faster as you can!"

With that Venus and her Pokémon take off, a slight purple glow surrounding them (and Dawn and May, when they catch up with them)

(I'm assuming that since none of my Pokémon has a power that lets them do this explicitly, the effect of "boosting their running with psychic power" will be minimal, but it might help a little.)
