The Germans Eliminate 20 officials who were being bought out by various factions. The Germans also declare a national Holiday and holds a parade in every major city to boost moral.

Bats begin to fly out of caves in Germany migrating South for the winter. This spectacle is filmed, and Germany launches a Motion Picture association to make money off of the movie making industry.

The First movie is Die Fledermäuse aus der Hölle (The Bats from Hell). It is a movie where a German Scientist accidentally creates a swarm of Bats that Attacks the small german village of Apfel. It captures the heroic struggle as the scientist saves the woman of his dreams.

It is an immediate national success! The movie is then Translated into English, french, spanish, Russian, and Latin and showed across the world.

Texas secedes from the CSA and arranges its own peace treaty with the Americans. Cut off from help, the hapless states of Sonora and Chihuahua are invaded from the south by enterprising Mexican Emperor Antonio I.

The CSA's rapidly disintegrating defenses are easily penetrated by the conquering Union forces. American morale is at an all-time high as the CSA/British troops despair. Within a few weeks the Confederate States of America has ceased to exist, replaced by the Republic of Texas, along with independent Grand Carolina, Virginia (less West Virginia), Georgia, Trans-Mississippi, Florida and US-conquered territories in Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. The Mexicans have retaken Sonora and Chihuahua and while the Roosevelt administration has their eye on taking these provinces (heck, maybe the whole country!) the focus turns to Canada. Hundreds of thousands of veteran US soldiers pour onto the Niagra and Victoria lines and lay siege to Winnipeg. Britain, still trying to salvage the now-basically-hopeless war, pours more of their own troops into the defensive complexes, which are considered some of the most advanced in the world (behind only the fortifications being constructed on the border between Russia and Germany).

Elsewhere, Argentina and Brazil have turned into the two principal powers in South America, and Japan sits on the Trans-Siberian Railway and has airships and airplanes shoot up troop cars.

The German head scientist receives a paper developed by one Albert Einstein. He reads it and is astounded by the work and the theory of Relativity. He offers Albert Einstein a Position of High Regard Within the German Science council.

Kaiser Fredrik died in office today, His son, Kaiser William, has taken the Throne. William is More interested in the Sciences and Economics than the art of War that his father was interested in. He Devotes a larger portion of the Scientific work force to what is being Called Project X. This Project is the Single best guarded secret of the German army. Only 3 People know of its existence as of this moment. Kaiser William, Fredrik Shlouder Supreme General of the German Army, and Yohan Shlout Leader of the German Science Comity.

German Scientists Theorize that a light weight alloy of Aluminum and Steel can result in a better way to build airships. They begin experiments with it, and try to fortify their Development.

Meanwhile Erik von Glouten, Viscount of Northern Prussia, While gazing out of a telescope, Discovers that these Nebula that exist out in space, are not all just light, He theorizes they are other Galaxies which Exist outside of our own. He begins studies into this.

And In the other side of Germany, A young scholar develops a table for a better organization of Elements. He Conducts studies and begins to develop the Periodic Table of Elements.

Movie Industry: Three Rival Industries begin to compete against each other by making movies.

A massive USA offensive captures Montreal while Winnipeg falls after a blistering siege. Canada's defenses are broken, and Britain sends out a request for peace to Washington. This is met favorably (the USA is jubilant at having destroyed the Rebels and taught the British a lesson) and the two countries sit down for peace talks. This ends in Britain recognizing US acquisition of the entire Dominion of Canada, unable to hold in the face of overwhelming American military superiority. Much rejoicing in the United States. Congress begins organizing the territory acquired from the CSA and Canada while a shipbuilding program is introduced to create a merchant fleet and the ships to protect them.

Russia is unable, despite all efforts, to shift Japan off the railroads in eastern Siberia and is forced to concede defeat, resulting in essentially nothing but large quantities of money being given to Japan. Smarting from this humiliation, they turn to Europe, casting covetous eyes at the iron possessed by Hungary and the ASC.

The Austrian Monarchy proposes a alliance between itself, Germany and Italy. The reason being is that these three countries form a 'wall' separating eastern and western Europe (very profitable).

Germany Counter proposes. The Germans will let the Austrians rejoin the Alliance that they previously had, with all the perks. The Condition is that Austria keeps on supplying Germany with Iron and other heavy metals.

[Austria's supply of industrial raw materials came almost exclusively from territory now controlled by Hungary, as it happens.]

Italy looks to Yugoslavia, concerned about it being essentially a Russian puppet state, and formulates plans.

Austria agrees to Germany's terms of alliance. A mining program is developed by the Austrian Aristocracy to regain mining lost by secession of Hungary. The program requires a little more tax on the poor...

Meanwhile, a young Austrian man in Vienna, having been rejected from art school twice, shoots himself in the street after giving a long speech saturated with racial bigotry. The man's name is Adolf Hitler and while he causes a minor stir, it never amounts to much.

Russian armies mass on the border with Hungary, less so on Scandinavia's border (owing to Scandinavian trench lines and fortresses). The Tsar claims provocation and demands Hungary allow Russian troops on its land. Italy and Scandinavia, both wary of expanding Russian influence, send warnings to Russia guaranteeing Hungarian sovereignty. France, as always allied with Russia in general, makes no comment but seems likely to join in on Russia's side if Germany joins in. Britain, smarting from its disastrous defeat in Canada, displays no interest in joining either side whatsoever but leans toward the anti-Russian camp due to colonial disputes in Persia.

The government of Hungary temporizes, unsure of precisely what to do.

France sends a diplomatic warning to the Kaiser that if the Germans interfere in the "conflict" between Hungarian and Russian forces the French will see that as an attack on their ally, whom they are obligated to assist.

Scandinavia, confident in their defensive fortifications, awaits the next move by the Russians.

Italy masses troops and tanks on the Yugoslav border, prepared to go to war at any moment.

Britain denounces both sides as "a band of warmongering fools."

The USA begins the Herculean task of fully absorbing its new territory. Grand Carolina is still hostile (not that it can do much) but Trans-Mississippi and the Texas Republic have applied for readmission to the States.

Russia delivers an ultimatum to Hungary, Scandinavia and Germany demanding military access to Hungarian land, the disbanding of the Scandinavian military, and a guarantee of noninterference by Germany.

The Germans Agree to no military interference, but sell weapons and ammunition to Hungary. The Germans say to the French, "We aren't interfering, only following a close neighbor's actions." Hinting to what the French did back during the war with Russia.

Austria sends troops to the Yugoslavian border to help Italy if problems should arise. The Austrians are also likely to fight Russia if a war should come.

Upon hearing the Communist Propaganda throughout Greece, King Ambrosius makes new laws regarding a laborer's workday. This included a minimum pay of 10 Grecos (Grecian money) per hour, a 9 hour workday, and much healthier and safer working conditions.

In the meantime, Greece begins making elite squadrons to send to Israel to help keep the peace. Also, they send diplomats to Austria to discuss an alliance in case Russia should go crazy.

(The country of Israel was made after WWII, Therefore cannot exist in this timeline as The Jewish people are not seen in that high of regards. It would be the Ottoman Empires territory.)

The Tsar holds an emergency meeting of military and political minds from all over Russia to determine what the country's next move will be. What limited intelligence nearby concerned partires (like Greece, Austria and Germany) can gather points to a Russian attack into Hungary and possibly Scandinavia.

Austria builds, or rather outfits a castle near the eastern border as its eastern military HQ. It receives orders directly from Vienna.

Germany opens up a trade line with Hungary, and starts to sell them weapons. Germany uses the Increased Profit to advance their own military progress.

A large Russian force attacks the Scandinavians, but is repulsed by their well-designed defensive network. An even larger army swarms into Hungary, sweeping the infant Hungarian military before them. Scandinavia, Hungary and Italy declare war on Russia and her allies. An Italian tank force thrusts deep into Yugoslavia, while Russia masses reinforcements on the borders with Germany and now Greece to protect against potential attacks from those directions.

Britain, America and Japan remain neutral. While America's stance towards Russia remains one of it's friendliest towards a European power (besides perhaps Germany and France), the other two neutral powers are inclined against the Eastern European titan.

Germany recalls the agreement of the De-militarized zone and bring it up with Russian Leaders. The Germans have no reason to go to war at this time and continue to build up their technology.

As the Russian ambassador recalls, the demilitarized zone was exclusively on German soil, which the Russians have not put so much as one toe on.
