Re: Timebreak
The Greeks, learning of the intel from their spy network, quickly industrialize to try and recapture Crete while concentrating their efforts on Bulgaria. The Greek Army, under the command of Charles, boldly march over the border into Bulgaria.

Re: Timebreak
Realizing they didnt have enough rations for the siege, Charles decides to raid nearby farms and block trade to try to get the Bulgarians to surrender.

Re: Timebreak
The Bulgarians rally and pulverize the Greek flanks, forcing them into a retreat. The attempt to block trade is highly effective, however.
The Turks continue to fortify Crete.

Re: Timebreak
It was a sad day in Greece. As the Greek army was forced into a retreat, Ambrosius- who had been very sick- died just moments after Charles returned to Athens. His oldest son- Ambrose- succeeds him, but fell out of power with his people after he declared he would abandon efforts to retake Crete. After a humiliating defeat by the uprising against him, Ambrose is overthrown after 9 days of rule and is replace by non other than Charles.
Charles quickly rallies his people, march back out to the Bulgarian Capital, and attempt to take the city.

Re: Timebreak
The city quickly falls and with it, Bulgaria.
All of the remaining Bulgarian soldiers who have surrendered are being well-treated by the Greek army. Any soldiers who are offering resistance are quickly dealt with. Charles orders the army to help rebuild while he turns his attention back to retaking Crete.

Re: Timebreak
[*ahem* One roll of 18 does not a victory make, Brandon. Final say on the results of battles goes to the DM. Also, you can't march out to Sofia whenever you want, the Bulgarians are gonna fight you like hell the whole way there.]
The Bulgarians are surprised by the quick rally of the Greek forces and in the ensuing battle are forced into a humiliating retreat back across their border.
Turkish torpedo boats patrol the waters around Crete. Turkish aeroplanes continue to scout out across the Aegean.
French forces battle a comparable German armored force which easily proves that antitank-equipped FT17s perform much better than machine-gun models, as an arriving reinforcement squadron decides the battle in favor of the French. However, French gains are tempered by British dive bombers.
The Russians continue their March of Fire across north Germany. Heroic resistance from the Germans largely fails to make up for the lack of prepared positions, but the advance is slowing as Russian supply lines swell dangerously and the Germans rally outside Berlin.

Re: Timebreak
[Sorry about that. it was just that since no one was POSTING in this roleplay (except, on occasion, moi) I just naturally assumed there was no resistance between the border and Sofia. My apologies for the misunderstanding. Also, what does this -10 Initiative mean?]
The Greeks chase the bulgarians across the border and march to the capital. About 5 miles in, they encounter resistance from the Bulgarian forces.
Meanwhile, Greece expands it's empire when Charles marries the Macedonian Queen Boudica III as a sign of good faith to the Macedonians, who feared Greece would take them by force. Now the countries of Macedonia and Greece are united under one banner as Greece.
Greece begins to rapidly industrialize in hopes of defeating both the Bulgarians and the Turks.

Re: Timebreak
[Dammit]
After a humiliating defeat, the Greeks hastily retreat until they cross the border, where they will wait until either they can regain their strength or if the Bulgarians will be stupid enough to try and invade Greece.
Despite of this defeat, the Greek people are now more determined than ever to defeat the Bulgarians and retake Crete.
Greek Scientists have just made their first submarine.

Re: Timebreak
[The Initiative thing means literally nothing except in the abstract, just ignore it. Also, Macedonia doesn't exist as a country yet. Present-day Macedonia's territory is divided between Yugoslavia, Hungary and Bulgaria. Curse my lack of image-editing software!]
The Bulgarians try a new tactic, seeking to outflank the Greeks. However, as they pass through Greek territory, Greek civilians act as spotters for the Greek Army and as a result the Bulgarians are forced back across the border again, sans about a fifth of their force.

Re: Timebreak
[Sorry for the confusion about Macedonia, then. I have no idea what year it is in this roleplay. So how about a marriage between King Charles of Greece and a Yugoslavian Noble?]
The Greeks, having successfully made an operational submarine, begin work on building more submarines, upgrading their navy, and begin making their first airplanes. The production rate is very quick.

Re: Timebreak
[It's about summer of 1913. Yugoslavia at this point (if Italy hadn't invaded it, can't remember/too lazy to check) is actually a republic, so they don't have nobles. Also Greece isn't going to be able to make stuff too quickly, their industrial base OTL was very poor and despite all the work you've done so far not much will have changed yet, so your production capacity is lower than Turkey or Bulgaria. You do have Italy (Great Power) more or less on your side, however, unless you do something quite dumb like declare war on them. Given Greek quality of officers and craftmanship you should be able to beat Bulgaria pretty handily if Italy will lend you some materiel.]
Re: Timebreak
[Thank you for all the info]
Greece asks Italy for materials in defeating Bulgaria and the Turks on Crete.
In the meantime, a force of Greek troops- under the command of Commander Ambrose Anastos, who happens to be a good friend of Charles- march across the border and encounter heavy resistance.

Re: Timebreak
Despite the seemingly overwhelming force of the Bulgarian resistance, the Greeks manage to pulverize them- for every Greek soldier who fell in the battle, the Bulgarians paid with 12 of theirs. After a couple of hours exchanging shots, the Bulgarians retreated inwards, with the Greeks continuing to march to Sofia.

Re: Timebreak
Italy supplies the Greeks sparingly, the bulk of her products already earmarked for the rebellion in Austria or their planned invasion of France.

The Greek Army continues it's march to Sofia. Along the way, they encounter a fortified village. They quickly lay siege to it.

Re: Timebreak
After 2 hours of exchanging shots, Commander Anastos is killed by a shot to the heart. Disheartened, the Greeks make a hasty retreat, only about a quarter of their original force actually reaching Athens.
When King Charles heard of the death of his friend, he angrily demands that the production of military vehicles, weapons, and supplies be increased by 25% and orders the army back out to the border. Additionally, he increases the military personnell by having every Greek citizen- both male and female- over the age of 15 be required to serve in Greece's army.
To pay for his expenses, he opens up trade with Italy and England, in hopes his currency would rise.

Re: Timebreak
Not much happens as a result - Greece just plain isn't important enough to invite foreign capital, especially with the war in Europe on.
The Germans surround and annihilate a good-sized chunk of Russian troops in the meantime.

Obermoser, figured out that the Emperor knew where he was. He decided to flee for the time being into Switzerland. The Hapsburg Emperor is asking Switzerland to capture/ bring him back to Austria.

Re: Timebreak
Greece sends Turkey a message saying they would like to combine their two countries into one. They propose the idea of a constitutional monarchy, where the Turks would make their laws, send them to the monarch to be approved, and then, if unapproved, they would revise it and send it to a branch of Government to see if it's constitutional. (To save some time, look at it as being kind of like the U.S. gov't.)
