The arrow spears through the jaw of the wolf into Thom's leg, eliciting a roar from the wolf, now stuck onto Thom. It tries to shake Thom off, his weight dragging its head down. It struggles, moving the arrow around, causing great pain for both.

Ilyssa drew another arrow but hesitated to shoot it - they were still struggling and she might hit either of them again.

Ralof and Hadvar fight off the remaining wolves around them, running to help Thom. Hadvar grabs the bigger wolf by the back legs, speaking through gasps to Thom,

"Grab the head and pull!"

Vaninir charges at the wolf being pulled and hacks into it's mid section with his sword.

The sword slices slightly, but the wolf cracks him in the ribs with its front paw.

Thom does what Hadvar asks and starts to pull himself away from the wolf

With the wolf immobilized, Ralof leaps at wolf with his axe.

The wolf tosses Thom into Ralof, snapping the arrow in half, before wrenching free of Hadvar and kicking him in the face.

It lets out a loud roar and then a soft squeak...

as it is stomped flat by an angry giant.

Ilyssa nearly dropped her bow. How did that giant get so close before they saw it?

It didn't matter now. Slinging the bow back over her torso she left the path for the brush off at the side, near the edge of the woods.

After Vaninir recovers from the kick, he readies his sword and runs at the giant.

The giant swings its club into the Khajiit, sending them crashing into a tree. As they attempt to move, they find that all of their ribs are broken.

As Vaninir gets a slight hit the the giant, it slap him with its hand, sending his sword flying and shattering his left wrist.

It looks around for the rest, before spotting Hadvar and Ralof.

Hadvar and Ralof back away slowly.

"Well Hadvar, it's your job to keep Skyrim safe, right?"

"Don't you lot say Skyrim is for the Nords?"

Thom gets up and sees Ilyssa run away "MY LADY" he says as he runs after her

"Cat, now is not the time to be getting excited!", Ralof yells at him.

Meanwhile, the giant starts heading after Thom, picking up speed.

Ilyssa looked back over her shoulder. Dammit! Thom was leading the giant straight toward her. "Thom! Split up!" she called back at him, gesturing frantically to the side before turning ninety degrees to her right. Hopefully Thom would go left.

Thom got the message "AS MY LADY COMMANDS". He then turns left to fallow llyssa's orders

The giant loses sight of the two in the trees. Growing further upset, it begins swings its club into the trees, bending and breaking them.

Ilyssa just kept running. If it was attacking trees it wasn't attacking her, and that was good.

Hadvar and Ralof, seeing their chance, run up behind the giant and slice right behind its knees. The giant lets out a horrid, pain-filled roar as it drops to its knees, blood pouring onto the ground. The pair then run over to the Khajiit, hoisting them over their shoulders.

"Lets get going before it can follow us in any capacity," Hadvar says, heading slowly down the road, "the last thing Riverwood needs is an angry giant."

"You two coming?" Ralof yells into the woods.

Ilyssa heard that. Sounded like they were coming this way - she'd heard the giant scream and by the sound of it the beast wouldn't be coming after them. The Breton doubled back so that the Nords could catch up to her.

Ilyssa noted the way Hadvar and Ralof were carrying the two Khajiit...well, dragging, in Inari's case. "They took on the giant, didn't they?"

The Breton made a mental note to stay away from the cats...they seemed entirely too eager to get themselves and/or anyone nearby killed.

The giant, hearing Thom yelling, uses its club to drag itself after the group.

Ralof looks back to see it, hearing the scrapping of the club against the ground.

"By Talos, will that thing never give up?!"
