Bzothan had spent most of this time pretty much ignoring the giant. He chose this moment to pull up alongside Hadvar. "I need to find the nearest Dwemer ruin."

"Sorry to disappoint you, but there isn't a Dwemer ruin anywhere close to here, at least that has been found above ground," Hadvar replies, "Most of them are in the outer parts of Skyrim, although I did hear about a book recently about a particular ruin. Something about a war."

"Less talking about dusty ruins, more running!" Ralof yells, picking up speed.

In the distance, the group sees what seems to be a gate.

A single guard pulls the door open just enough to peek out.

"Who seeks entry?" he asks, before spotting the giant heading towards the group. Hadvar and Ralof manage to catch up.

"Let us in you fool!" Ralof yells, attempting to push through and succeeding.

"Hurry in, all of you!" the guard yells, pulling the gate open just enough for them to get in. The group hears bowstrings being pulled above them.

Everybody in the group makes it inside the gate, the guards quickly close said gate. the group, once inside, looks around to see that they are in a one room shack built for hunting, animal pelts line the floor and walls of the shack, but nobody besides the guard outside.

a few yards away from the shack, there seems to be 3 odd looking stones surrounding a large circle filled with more carvings.

As the giant evidently died at the hunters' arrows (after killing Rees, judging by the hiss and splat), Ilyssa looked at the stones behind the shack. "What are those?"

from outside, the roar of the giant can be heard, followed by a large THUD and the giant's corpse o nthe ground.

Vaninir looks outside. "Well, the giant is dead, and wait a minute, are those the guardian stones over there?" He asks, pointing to the circle.

"I believe they are." Ralof says, walking toward the stones.

"The guardian stones are 3 of 13 standing stones that dot the landscape of Skyrim, each stone offers a certain sign. These 3 are the warrior, mage and thief stone." Ralof says.

Ilyssa examined the Thief Stone. "They have these strange markings on them...like constellations, almost."

Hadvar walks up to the stone Thom is looking at. "The Warrior stone grants you the ability to learn skills dealing with light and heavy weapons and armors. The Mage stone increases your aptitude for learning magic and quickens the pace at which you learn. the thief stone grants you the ability to learn skills having to do with sneaking and thievery at a faster rate. "
