The soft soil muffled his footsteps, as Allenin worked his way up the white river. Ivarstead, the small milling town, is where he is heading. A wood elf so very far from home...  But so was she. He made the excuse that he was up here, for the thrill of new prey to hunt, but he was really chasing a more... energetic sort of tail. In a way he was still "hunting" a new prey, but thats starting to sound too... Personal. If Allenin is anything, he is not very personal, or emotional. He hides it all with a wall of logic and strict codes he has built for himself over many years.  

Allenin leans over, and lets his hand rest in the cool river water, as he sees the smoke rising from Vilemyr Inn. To the eye, he was a simle traveler, maybe even a pilgrim on his way up the rising mountians. 'Now that is a sight' Allenin thought to himself. He makes his way up into the town, and takes notice of the Burrow. "Fantastic" He speaks aloud to himself. He could smell the lake, and the mist rises and falls on his face. It feels nice, and, for a moment, he is back at the high seas.

Shaking away the memory, and focusing, he enters the inn. The sight of her still lingers in his head, Soft grey with white spots. Deep brown eyes... Yes. No one would ever tag him for the philandering type, with his level and calculative personality, but he has a thing for Khajiit maidens. Skyrim Khajiit travel the road, and times get tough, though also, being a wanderer, and a guide, he usually finds caravans and leads them out. One thing about Khajiit though, is its lonely out there, and he is a bit ashamed to say he has taken advantage of that. Yet, this felt...  different. He just wanted to find her again, make sure she was ok. Besides, he draws in all his coin from hunting, and its not like he had much else to do. Adventuring was this Rangers thing. He was good at it. He liked it. Heck, most days he loved it. Seeing the sights, killing all manner of prey... Meeting people.

Though, again, if he was honest, he was not very sociable, and could not talk to people very well. Such struggles, for the calm and intensly logical Wood Elf. Allenin is a simple, no nonsense, and efficient person. He has his hair a mess most days, and has green war paint under his eyes. He wears leather armor, along with a host of weapons on his body. He looks like the protective type, and has an air of security around him. He greets people with a slight nod of the head, and almost never smiles.

He adjusts the dead wolf on his back, and walks over to the Inn keeper...  'Ah, what was his name... , Wilhelm?' ...  

Maybe he knows any good leads on some local work people need done, or soem good hunting grounds...  maybe even her.

[Flagmauth]

As Allenin entered the innkeeper was leaning on the surface of the counter without much to do - most of his business nowadays came from the guards in the evenings when they rotated off their shifts. He straightened once he saw the door open. "Welcome to the Vilemyr Inn. If there's anything I can get you, just let me know."

Allenin cast his eyes over the countertop, and the barrels behind the man. He set the wolf down with a heavy thump, and nodded. His voice is thick, and smooth, with an elven quality to it that only comes from the vast woodlands. "I need some travel rations, maybe you have some bread and cheese that would suffice? I am also looking for work. You have any leads, and I would be grateful. " Allenin knew the meat would not be too 'fair' for these northern folk, and their fancy pallets. Meat was just meat to Allenin, but he did see lots of other warriors see it the same way. Maybe it's just a warrior thing. Regardless, he needed an arrow to aim in the right direction, and shooting arrows is his thing. For a moment he did think on asking about her, but all that can wait, and besides, it would make him look awful creepy. Thats also one thing he never understood about the people outside of the wilderness. If someone is chasing, then they are a stalker, but if they are romantic about it, they are an admirer? He understood little on how the social norms worked. In all honesty, if thats how they DID work, than praise Barl, he was clueless.

[Flagmauth]

The Nord rummaged in the shelves below the counter, setting a loaf of bread and a wedge of pale yellow cheese on its surface. "There, that'll be eight septims. Now as for work...you might try asking the guards. They need all the labor they can get fortifying the town with the dragons about."

Your consuming of a dragon soul is what brought your existence to our attention to begin with." Arngeir took to pacing back and forth before them as he spoke. "It is the privilege of the Greybeards to guide the Dragonborn in the Way of the Voice. However, we have not been able to fulfill that duty since the death of the last Dragonborn: Tiber Septim. Now, we are presented with four of you. It is an honor." He clasped his hands together before him and bowed.

[Dare-to-be]

He nods and sets the coin on the table, lugging off the heavy body of the wolf, and throwing it over his shoulder. "Thats much, for the information." He stows the bread and cheese into his backpack, and walks out. He looks across the lake, and smiles. He takes a moment to breathe, and looks up at the mountains. Funny, people said someone was up there shouting... Ha, shouting. Like that does any good. Action speaks more that words do. So, back to work, lets go look for those guards...

[Helsing]

"You don't need to bow" Thom says a little embarrassed

As it turned out, the Greybeards were capable of imparting knowledge of Words directly to the Dragonborn. Each of them learned the second word to Unrelenting Force as well as the first word to a new Shout: Whirlwind Sprint. Of course, Ilyssa asked them exactly why they couldn't just teach them all the Words right then and there and was awarded some cryptic answer about proving oneself and whatnot.

Eventually, Arngeir had this to say. "You are now ready for your last trial. Retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, our founder, from his ancient fain in Ustengrav." And with that, the group had set off back down the mountain (much to Ilyssa's annoyance, it was nearing evening and the Greybeards had made it clear that the Dragonborn were not to rest in High Hrothgar).

[A Blind Guy]

"we should head back to Ivarsted and prepare for the journey, but first," vaninir looks to Illysa and uses the unrelentig force shout.

[Flagmauth]

Ilyssa staggered and very nearly fell over, but managed to stabilize just in time. Glaring, she retaliated in kind. "Fus ro!"

[Helsing]

"This is getting out of hand"

[Flagmauth]

"Well, if Vaninir would just behave himself we wouldn't be having this problem."

[A Blind Guy]

"I am just repaying the thief for earlier, let us depart."

[Helsing]

Thom doesn't voice an opinion and fallows

Ilyssa scowled at him but remained silent, not particularly wanting to sink down to the level of constant warfare against the other Nord. There wasn't much point to it anyway - she'd already proven she could "win" that by making him go fishing for a battleaxe and Thom was pretty much willing to do anything she asked. She didn't need to keep this going.

A short journey later, the sun had descended below the horizon and the Dragonborn were returning to the bridge leading to Ivarstead.

[Flagmauth]

Where they were in full view of the guards manning the new walls - or any Bosmer who might be hanging around Ivarstead.

Allenin pulled the line, and smiled, adding another fish to his running hooks, and threw it over his back. 4 Silverside Perch, 2 River betties, 5 Salmons, and a small Slaughterfish. He climbed out from under the bridge, and washed his hands in the river. The line heavy with fish flashes scaled reflections of the sun on his back. He had spent the last 5 hours fishing in the river, and he enjoyed this quiet, slow time. Looking around a moment, he takes notice of a few guards and a ragtag group. Those guards had no help, just telling him to go back to the inn for work, plus, they only wanted the help of some 'true nord' He pauses, then and thinks. Maybe these folk need a Ranger to give them some aid. They look pretty unprepared. He looks down at himself, Leather armor, with fur padding and cloak. His short steel blade, and longbow strung over his back. His war painted face, and hair flowing from his helmet. He sure looked the part. Besides, if the pay was good, what did it matter who was paying him? He knew he did not really need the pay, but this land was boring, traversing it alone. Be could always hunt, so at least he could put his mind at rest. He would never go hungry. He takes another long look at the people, as they come down the bridge, and lifts himself over the edge, dragging the fish line with him. He takes a moment to cast his eyes over to the inn, then to the small farm, then back to them. " Where is your heading? " He says in the deep accent of the Bosmer. " The name is Allenin, shall I inquire about your's? "

[Flagmauth]

Ilyssa stopped so as to avoid walking into the elf who'd just clambered over the side of the bridge. Quickly the Breton looked him up and down...well, he didn't look like he meant much trouble anyway, just a hunter. She relaxed slightly. "My name is Ilyssa, and this is Thom, Vaninir and...actually I don't remember the lizard's name. We're heading to Ustengrav."

[Dare-to-be]

Allenin had to think a moment... Ustengrav... That was by Morthal. Morthal, the swampland. He never had been there... Might be good to tag along. He looked them up again. His eyes calculated skill, equipment, and attitude. He gives a slight nod of approval. He takes a moment to adjust the fish on his back, and takes a few steps to the end of the bridge. " I was heading down that way myself, you mind the company? " He takes a moment to lift his waterskin and drink, before casting a quick glance at the underbrush for hares and foxes.

[Helsing]

Thom looks him up and down "No we don't mind the company"

[Flagmauth]

"I guess not." Ilyssa said, suspicious once again. In her experience, people didn't just up and join a random group of travelers "because they want company." Likely the elf had an agenda of some sort...she should know, she'd done something similar to get from Hammerfell to Cyrodiil. Nothing to do about it now, at any rate; she'd just keep an eye on her belongings. Thom's too - she didn't care about Vaninir or the lizard.

[Helsing]

"What are you heading to Ustengrav for?" Thom asks

"I know that a caravan is on its way to the city. One of theirs is... Rather curious. Besides, I wanted to see whats up with these nordic ruins. Many people have had mixed feelings on the places. All this talk of the end of time, and people are still worried about such petty superstition. Its almost... Pathetic. Whats your take on all this foolish talk of 'dragons' ? " Allenin never saw no dragon in his days, and when he first arrived thats all these foolish nord types could talk about. Legends are just stories that fools tell others, and only fools listened. Besides that point, reality is just the lie the mind tells itself. Illusion magics.. Now that was true power. Making the mind think differently. That was a real danger, and if he ever was to advance past his decent nature magic skills, he would choose that school of arcana.

[Flagmauth]

Ilyssa stared at him. How had he missed the whole dragon attack thing? "'Foolish talk of dragons?' Have you been through Whiterun recently?"

[Dare-to-be]

" No, I have not been to the center hold. Why? " He was a bit puzzled... no, perplexed. She seemed shocked, almost worried. There was ... almost a pain in her voice. Something surely did happen, she seemed no liar to him. " I assume something with dragons, and that perhaps there is a bigger issue than a thought. " Oh now.. Hunting Fabled beasts, dragons... now that would be a true joy.

[Flagmauth]

Now the tiny Breton smiled ruefully. "No. It wasn't."
