Well the samurai were still following her and Liv couldn't keep hurling lightning at them forever. Not at the same level she'd been doing already, anyway. Liv followed after the stranger. He seemed no friend of the samurai and that made him tolerable at least.

Darian quickly lift his stone gauntlet up to parry the katana. If he successfully parried it, he would quickly aim the gem at the samurai and fire at him.

Yasuo quickens his pace as best he can in the crowd, keeping his head down as he advances closer to Liv. he needed to get these samurai away from him. yasuo calls up on his patron to cast prestidigitation, making everyone around him smell smoke. yasuo then clears his throat and yells "fire!" in the crowd of people.

Upon hearing the footsteps grow closer, Nereida prepares a spell to push the samurai back and turns around.

Nereida & Darian
Nereida turned around directly into one of the Samurai, whom her spell promptly knocked back. Unfortunately she wasn't fast enough, for a second Samurai managed to send Nereida sprawling on the ground. He stood on Nereida's right, pointing his freshly drawn Katana on his prone opponent.

The stone gauntlet managed to parry the blow. Daraian's opponent slashed at him, just as the power gem knocked the Samurai on top of the other Samurai Nereida had pushed back. Darian felt a slight sting on his right hand side, as Darian's Samurai had managed to cut (not very deep) into Darian's side. A second Samurai charged at Darian, swinging his katana wildly in the air. The fortune teller, whom Darian and Nereida had passed earlier stuck out her stick to trip the Samurai - who promptly smacked into the dirt road. The Samurai had managed to retain his grip on the katana, swinging it at Darian's legs.

Yasuo
The crowd immediately next to Yasuo erupted into chaos, as they were trying to run from the alleged fire. While it wouldn't take the crowd very long to figure out there wasn't actually a fire, for now the pedestrians were keeping the Samurai pursuing him pretty much stationary - which left Yasuo in a position to get away or pursue Liv. Yasuo could see that Liv and the elder man had made it partway up the winding staircase leading to the temple district, although by the way the old man was looking over his shoulder - it looked like they'd run into a complication.

Liv
Liv followed the elder man up the winding stairs leading to the temple district, whose magnificent stone structures were visible from the entire city. Samurai were running up the stairs, past annoyed migrants to the temples toward their queries. Behind the samurai, Liv was able to hear 'FIRE', as crowd at the base of the stairs erupted into chaos.

Rounding the corner ahead came four Samurai, who pretty quickly deducted that Liv and the man she was with were fugitives. Liv's partner turned to her "If I don't make it, ask for Obsidian at the Marble Cafe. They have the temple districts best apple pie."

With that, he turned to the Samurai coming from below and fire lanced from his hand into the leading Samurai to hurl him back.

yasuo made his way towards the staircase, only stopping to see the blast of fire that was shot out. yasuo waited for the coast to be relatively clear before getting to the stairs.

Liv managed to stop pretty quickly, beings as she was running up the stairs already. Great. More of these wretches in her path? Four at once too...and on this stairway running along the side of a mountain with a sheer drop behind them.

Well, how about that?

She swept her arms out to her sides before clapping them together in front of her. At the impact, a spark of white-hot lightning appeared for an instant before disappearing, but it wasn't meant to last long. The intensity of the spark created a blast of thunder that shot forward towards the group ahead, hard enough to bowl a man over if he couldn't brace in time.

Darian sprawl forward to avoid having his legs cleaved off. Using the moment and weight of his fall, he swung the stone gauntlet down towards the samurai's head.

[Helsing]

And as his fist came down there was... music? Well, not really music, it didn't sound like anything from around... the country actually.



Whatever it was, the source of said music was coming directly from the street, blowing his pipe without a care in the world.

"Ah, an audience in action! Perfect inspiration."



The music came out from nowhere instruments and other devices that couldn't possibly be played at once yet were all the same. As the beat grew, Nereida & Darian felt themselves become energized.

A bard, one on their side it seemed. Behind his pipe, said bard gave a quick wink.

Nereid & Darian & Bard Person
Darian got lucky, for the samurai's cleaving attack failed to cut off his legs. Indeed, Darian managed to with the momentum of his fall bring down the gauntlet to knock the Samurai unconscious. The fortune teller over to the samurai standing above Nereida, attacking him from behind. By the time Darian stood up from his fall, Nereida and the fortune teller had dispatched the last samurai. Glancing at the newcommer the fortune teller grinned in exhausted fashion "keep playing that, and you might earn a free tea-leaf readingTM."

The four of them heard shouting in the distance, drawing nearer.

Liv & Yasuo
Liv's impulse to use Thunderwave proved to be quite effective. The four samurai got knocked against the railing and two of them were clinging on for dear life. One of them wasn't lucky - as he got the chance to experience the full effects of gravity. The katanas had flown off the edge with no one to hold them. Impressed with her handiwork the older man nodded in approval "Thanks for clearing the path - [looks over his shoulder at the four samurai at the bottom of the staircase] but lets get somewhere safe."

The formation of samurai at the bottom of the staircase had gotten into a bit of dissaray from the firebolt, but they were recovering quickly. And they seemed determined for some bloodshed. But in they dissaray, Yasuo saw a opening to push through - and reach Liv and the elder man.

Liv had an opening, and she intended to use it. Quickly, taking advantage of the remaining samurai's disorientation from the blast, she rushed up the stairs and past them.

Yasuo did the same as Liv, rushing past the samurai up the stairs.

[Helsing]

"Oh I always wanted one! Can I play while you read? A good tune will brighten any mood," the bard said cheerily.

Darien looked at the direction from where the shouting was coming from and groaned irritably. "Look, if you know a place to hide, then show it. Otherwise, you are only wasting my time."

Nereida, Darian & Bard
"I agree with him. We get to the safe house - and I'll do your tea leaf reading. Otherwise those Samurai will wipe that smirk off you [bard]" the fortune teller responded. She started leading the way towards the temple district, expecting the rest to follow her. Apparently, beneath the temple district were a network of tunnels utilized by servants and the citizens of Seoul to circumvent the swarm of pilgrims. "so I must ask, why do the samurai want you so badly [directed at Nereida and Darian]?"

Yasuo & Liv
Liv and the older man managed to climb the final steps of the stairs. The older man was a bit slow, giving Yasuo a chance to catch up to the duo (if willing). They then managed to disappear in the crowd of pilgrims frequenting the temple district. The temple district was a marvel of Dwarven architecture - big lumbering stone structures decorated in intricate carvings, lining the mountainside. Between these enormous structures, a steady stream of pilgrims, merchants, swindlers and others lined the busy road.

The elder man introduced himself as Minjae, member of the resistance to Japanese occupation. He asked Liv (and Yasuo if present) for their names and why the Samurai were hellbent on getting a hold of Liv. He also seemed curious about Liv's powers, but he didn't ask.

"I would assume it was because I don't squint my eyes like they do," he said in a tone that was questionably sarcastic.

[Flagmauth]

"They chased me, I ran." Liv shrugged. "I don't know what they want and I'm in no hurry to find out. As for the name, call me Liv." As Yasuo approached she shot him a glare, rather suspicious of him. But Minjae didn't seem bothered by his being here, so probably he wasn't with the samurai.

[A Blind Guy]

as Yasuo approaches and notices lIv's glare, he puts his hands up as a sign of peace. "Heeeey, don't kill me, I'm not with those dogs."

[Flagmauth]

"If you're not with them, why did you follow us?" Liv wanted to know.

[A Blind Guy]

"Well, I saw the two of you trying to get away from those samurai, and a voice, my goddess queen of air and darkness, Mab, said "go and follow them" "

[Helsing]

"Well that would be a horrible thing," the Bard says, "After all, a face without a smile isn't going to be worth much in a while."

[Flagmauth]

"..." Liv glowered at him as she considered his remark. She didn't know if she believed his line about a goddess. She didn't particularly care. What she did know, now that she had a second to gather her thoughts on the situation, was the samurai had taken Creator and she didn't like that. "Are you of use?" Liv finally asked him.

[A Blind Guy]

"Indeed I am, just not to cook. "

[Flagmauth]

"Good. What can you do, then? Can you kill samurai?"

a gleam appears in yasuo's eye. "I would like nothing better."
