Petra, scowling (why did nothing make sense anymore?), followed after Aelita.

Alistar followed as well. Luckily for him, this tuxedo was designed to not inhibit his movement too much. "This is rather weird," he muttered, but he knew better than to stray from the safety of the group.

After a few minutes of running the group finds the tower being guarded by three hornets.

"I really hate these things. At least they aren't megatanks." She said before Jeremy groaned. "I jinxed us didn't I." She says as she turned around to see a black orb rolling towards them. "These things are tough. If they roll over you, instant devirtualization. They open up and shoot a wall of energy, if you get hit by it twice, you get devirtualized." She warned the group as the orb stopped five meters behind them.

"And devirtualization means what, death?!" Petra demanded, looking back at the Megatank.

Alistar started stepping back, pistols out and ready to fire. He'd deduced that hitting the monsters in their eye-spot meant death to them, so that's what he was going to aim for... if this thing even had one.

[Flagmauth]

Petra had arrived at no such conclusion - her sonar didn't allow for her to see things like symbols. She just stepped forward and to one side and lashed out at it with her staff, sending the blade at one end whipping towards the shell.

"No, you just get sent back to the real world exhausted." Aelita says as the Megatank opened by splitting in half showing a flashing symbol. "Get clear!" Aelita shouts before the tank fires a vertical energy wall.

[Helsing]

"So where is this things weak spot!?" Mark says while diving out of the way

The group scattered but the tank shifted slightly towards the left, hitting Mark in the chest before Mark dissolves into pixles and vanished.

"Jeremy, one kid got hit!" Aelita screamed.

"Its alright, I'll go get him." Jeremy answer before going silent. The tank closes and sits still with no symbols showing at all.

In the Factory, Mark comes out of the scanner gasping for breath and stumbled only to be caught by Jeremy.

"I've got you. Come on, let's get you to the elevator." Jeremy says reassuringly as he guided Mark to the elevator.

In Lyoko, Aelita was freaking out.

"It always took two hits to devirtualize someone by a Megatank. Why only once now?!" She questions as the hornets watched the group.

"How do we hurt it?!" Petra demanded. She was pretty sure Mark hadn't just been killed but even so, she was shaken.

"Hit the symbol when it opens up. For the Hornets, hit the symbol on their heads." Aelita shouts before turning to look at the hornets to notice one important detail. "Wait, that's Xana's symbol!" She shouts as the three hornets attack the Megatank with lasers and acid. "What the?! Why are they?" She started before ignoring the battle. "Quickly to the tower!"

[Flagmauth]

"But what about the...giant...rolling thing?"

Alistar fired at the eyespot, but he missed, and his second shot merely bounced off the shell. He hadn't needed to move, having been standing off to the right when it fired. He turned his pistols to the hornets, turning in a slow circle and firing.

One of the three hornets were destroyed but the other two position themselves between the group and the tank. Facing the tank.

"Forget the hornets! Just run!" Aelita shouts at Alistair and the others.

[Flagmauth]

Petra sprinted off after Aelita again. "What's going on?! Are we supposed to kill these things or not?!"

Alistar turned and bolted after Aelita, and quickly discovered something else. Spring-loaded shoes. He was sent up in the air and forwards, landing far ahead of them with a loud whoop.

[Flagmauth]

"Wait, how come you have two abilities? I only have the one!"

"I don't have a magic staff!" retorted Alistar.

[A Blind Guy]

"Wait, can you say that again but slower, and this time, think about the words comming from your mouth?"

[Sagansoul001]

"I don't know what to kill now! Those two hornets had Xana's symbol on them when the Megatank had that strange new symbol." Aelita shouts as they get to the tower to find it had no doors at all. "Just follow me inside. I'll get you in safely." She said before walking through the solid looking wall but it rippled like water as she went through.

Petra deliberately did not respond to Zed and stepped in after Aelita.

Petra found herself inside the tower standing on a narrow path that leads to a large circular central platform but the walkway she was on was the only one. Aelita was standing on the central platform with a kind smile on her face.

"Whatever you do, don't look down until you've gotten onto the central platform." Aelita warns as she watched Petra.

Alistar dashed in shortly after, his momentum keeping him from stopping until he very nearly crashed into Aelita.

Aelita yelped before jumping out of the way tripping Alistair, sending sliding along the floor until he stopped at the very edge with his head looking into the black abyss below them.

"Are you alright?!" Aelita asked as she grabbed his arm pulling him away from the edge.

Alistar froze when he saw the abyss below him, utterly boneless as Aelita dragged him backwards. "I'm fine, I'm fine," he rasped, breathing heavily.
