Quills figures to walk further, away from whatever was trying to intrude. The fact that they appeared harmless was not going to make a difference to him.

The voices suddenly go hushed, as the chamber widens. Rotting books and scrolls line a a wall, along with a few Soul Gems on a table. Ilyssa spots a tripwire linked to the far door in the room. Quills sees a black soul gem under a molding purple skillbook. Allenin leans on the doorway, giving his drawstring a few nonchalant tugs. He would let them work out where they needed to go next.

Ilyssa frowned. Why would a tripwire be linked to a door, of all things? Initially she thought the door must lead to somewhere with another skeleton in it, but then realized it didn't necessarily mean the door. There were all sorts of things she could think of that might be hidden in the bookshelf, which could in turn be connected to that tripwire.

Obviously she wouldn't step through the thing, but she wasn't the only one here; Thom and Vaninir in particular would blunder into it, Ilyssa was certain. "Be careful of that wire," she said, pointing it out to them. Taking care to follow her own advice, the Breton went for the Soul Gems on the table. She knew they weren't worth much...but they had a certain sparkle to them that caught her eye.

Quills studied the room. Someone had gone through a lot of trouble protecting this room, yet he didn't see the need for such secrecy nor protection. Furthermore the voices at the entrance unnerved him. He told Illysia as much, figuring she had some experience with hidden doors, tripwhires and other such things. Of course Quills decided to leave out the part about the voices. He couldn't shake the feeling they were important, but they unnerved him.

The Gems are all fulled, a grand gem begins to hum lightly as Ilyssa wraps her fingers around it. An open book rests next to the soul gems, hidden under the small pile of 4 petty soul gems(full) and 1 Special Grand Soul Gem.

Vaninir sees a narrow passage that leads farther into the dungeon. There is a pale light at the end of the stone passage. The thin hall reeks of moss and old bones.

Quills sees that the Grand soul gem seems to hum as its touched. He also gets a naggign feeling that this room is... misdirecting the party. Though as he scans, he feels no illusion magic, he does get the nagging feeling (Other than the hums and new voices) that somehting is hidden.

AAAH! It touched me! The voice seems paniced, and be overjoyed. Touching US, you daft fool. Now honey, lower your voice, the little thief can feel you shaking.

Ilyssa deposited the soul gems in her pack. In response to the Argonian she shrugged. "I guess there's something in the next room that all this is supposed to protect."

"It just seems too easy" Quills muttered, but didn't have any concrete proof to support his suspicions. He'd just try to stay in the back, and keep a watchful eye.

"True. I recommend we keep a watchful eye out for surprises. The tripwire was probably meant to be discovered, which means there'll be more devious traps."

Vaninir narrows his eyes, grabbing Illysa's pack containing the gems. "Stealing from the dead again, typical." he says, hoisting her into the air.

The couple in the soul gem fight, as Silence slowly grows in the room. The smaller trap is easy to avoid now that you see it, and down the path the light glows from the final room. A whistle of wind breaks the silence of the room, signaling that through this path is a way outside.

As though to reinforce her position of "no-I-will-not-put-back-the-shinies" Ilyssa tightened her grip on the pack's shoulder straps, thus keeping her from slipping out of them and falling to the ground. She doubted that Quells would intervene on her behalf, and she couldn't force her way out by any means short of drawing her sword and poking out Vaninir's other eye. Which left...aha. If she got Thom's attention...

Glaring at Vaninir as best as she could over her shoulder, she replied, "You're one to talk about disrespect. Is this any way to treat a woman?" Hopefully the use of the word woman would get the other Nord to step in.

Apparently his attention was easily received when Ilyssa was involved "Put the fair maiden down this instant. Before either she, or I make your eyes match."

"I will set Her down and give her the kindness and respect she deserves. But only after she stops disrespecting the dead. Until then I shall continue to be a little bit disrespectful." Vannier said eyeing thom.
"And sense you refuse i must apologize but you've forced my hand." Vannair said turning back to Ilyssas and slowly changing his grip and rotated her until she was dangling upside down.

Ilyssa pulled her sword from its sheath - somewhat clumsily, but given how she was being dangled upside-down, she thought that might be forgiven - and laid the point of it under Vaninir's chin. "You don't have that long. Put me down, you stubborn jackass!"

vanniner extended his arm a little bit further away from himself so that the sword couldn't reach underneath his chin. "I'm sorry i must apologies for this." He said beginning to shank her rather valiantly up and down so that the shinnies and a majority of her stuff began to fall out of her pack.

Allenin sighs, taking a knee and leaning his shoulders back on the stones behind him. He reaches around and pulls out a small bottle of alto wine, taking a few drinks as he watches.
