Ustengrav. Resting place of the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller. A few dead mages and draugr litter the floor into a deep passageway. Allenin stops and sniffs the air, his head and hair flicked back in a sudden shock. "There is fresher air down there..." He speaks in a whisper as he stalks lightly forward. Ilyssa spots a very poorly made trap, and a blue shimmer of light down the path. As She walks forward a light, crisp breeze flows past the whole party carrying the scent of mold and moisture. Then a huge drop flowing down into the deep. Skeletons walk across stone arces armed with bows, and a word wall rests at the very lowest level were a silvery blue pool rests along with a few bodies and a small burst open chest with a few visible purses buldging at the seems. Allenin slowly draws an arrow to his bow, and leans instinctivly on a stone. His eyes scan the area waiting.

Ilyssa squinted down at the figures moving below them. "Skeletons?" she whispered.

Allenin slips silently forward and they loose him a moment, before they spot him inching his way silently on the underside of a Stone Pathway, dangling under and over the skeletons. He seems to me getting a good look around. He pulls a stone loose from the rubble and lets it drop on the skeleton with a muffled crunch. He waves them on, as he eyes the iron gate and some sort of light puzzle at the end of the stone pathway.

Ilyssa followed, unslinging the bow from her back. If they were going to have to fight the skeletons - and they almost certainly would - she wanted to have an arrow already in one of their skulls before running the risk of a counterattack.

Allenin takes a moment to look down at Ilyssa as she walks past and under him. He shakes his head and keeps going. He flings himself over the side of the stone path and shoves the skeleton off the ledge. The bones make contact with the stones bellow and scatter into pieces. He has two arrows on hos bowstring within a mear moment as a few skeletons poke their heads up. The large chamber is more visible to the group as they venture downward. The word wall waits, the pool is in a hush of soft waters, and the cave roof lets soft yellowish and sea blue light cast odd shadows across the pale floor. The stones have moss and lichen, and the skeletons themselves seem brittle and weak. Allenin had to give them some credit though, they had withstood the test of time better than most things in the cave. The ruined paths and broken statues litter the path that leads further into the dungeon. The exit is barred by an iron gate and around 8 Skeletons, one drapped over a throne.

Ilyssa had no idea why Allenin would have given up the high ground like that, but honestly it didn't matter. This way he was another target keeping the skeletons from going after her, which was just the way she liked it. Drawing an arrow back against the bowstring, she took aim at one of the skeletons advancing towards the elf and fired.

Allenin liked this. He felt the thrill of the hunt, the string taunt on his fingertips. He let the two arrows fly and readied more as he and Ilyssa drop three skeletons as the others finally take notice that they are under attack. Allenin gives a swift nod to Ilyssa and says. "Take our time to clear the area, then you can poke around the room." He lets an arrow fly as he says this, the skeletons crumpling to a heap.

Thom jumps into the battle with his mace, smashing through a skeleton. One gets close enough to him to attack but Thom grabs the skeleton with his free hand. Then the skeleton froze solid before Thom smashed it apart.

Ilyssa rolled her eyes. Like she was going to actually try and get at the chest now. She was good, but nobody was that good.

Allenin had heard the old stories from one of the bards in the bannered mare when he had first entered skyrim. These were powerful hunters Allenin had at his sides. But in the end he was not one of them and had no desire to be so. As he continues to pick off a few skeletons, he feels almost bored. Its possible that it could be all talk. It did not look like they had any fabled magical powers of old. He looks at the light puzzle, as the others fight. He places his palm on the stone and it glows a soft red.

Mist whips up from the small pool, and the skeleton on the throne raises his weary head. He, Well. It, stands, and points a thin black blade, that crackles and spits with lightning magicka.

An arrow lands a few inches away from Thorm, as an archer skeleton creaks above him on a ledge on the wall of the dungeon.

Ilyssa heard that and looked up. Thom and Vaninir would be able to fight the skeletons on the ground, but that archer would be a problem. She initially went for another arrow - but then stopped, having an idea. Taking a deep breath, she tried out the new Shout they'd all just learned. "Fus...ro!"

The Skeleton slips and falls to the hard stones bellow. The skull bounces to Thom's feet, and breaks apart.

Allenin watched Ilyssa shout, and he was honestly baffled for a few moments. It was odd, watching such a thing happen, no matter how little or big it was. He goes back to the hunt, focusing. The last skeletons are shot down by Allenin in swift shots.

The blade hums a corrupt tune as the larger skeleton takes a few steps closer to Ilyssa and Allenin.

The Breton backed off, taking aim at the skeleton as she did so. She was well out of its reach, but it might have spells that could hit her from up here, and she'd rather not experience them first-hand.

Thom put himself between the Skeleton and Allenin/Ilyssa making himself a target so that they can start picking him off with arrows

Allenin dive rolls to the side and lets an arrow stick into the Skeleton. He goes to draw another arrow, but he pauses, he seems to be listening for something a moment.

The skeleton advances on Thom, his eyes small beads of blue. He hisses Faas Viik. Fo Krah Diin There is a sudden blast of cold that shoves into Thom. Yet, he feels no ills, and the skeleton seems a bit shocked his voice had little to no effect on Thom. He raises his blade to swing.

Well, so much for the Voice being a Dragonborn exclusive. Ilyssa cursed under her breath as she lined up another shot, and let the arrow fly.

Thom holds up his mace with both hands to block the skeletons sword strike.

The Sword makes contact with the mace, and bright blue sparks flicker across the blade and arc off of the cold black steel. The Skeleton takes the arrow to the skull, and takes a step back, staggered.

Allenin draws his short sword and comes right behind the skeleton silently, and brings the blade down. The skeleton shrieks, and swings at the two targets. Allenin barely dodges a swing, and then smiles, as the small sound grows louder.

There is a small trickle at first, then a sudden crack, as water rushes into the pool from the melting and refreezing ice outside. The room becomes colder, as the fresh water swirls into the lowest chambers bellow.

Ilyssa glanced downward. Water was pouring into the cavern - but it didn't look like it would flood fast enough to be an issue. Plus there was gold that needed rescuing. She fired another couple of arrows at the skeleton, taking care not to hit Allenin or Thom.

Just like that, the skeleton slowly stops, and falls to the ground. Who knew poison would be so effective on one with no flesh? Asked Allenin to himself as he stands.

The skeleton half turns to dust as the power seems to fade into the water entering the chamber. The gold and chest glistening like a wanting woman. The air crisp and oddly clean as fresh water removes the impurities of the cave dungeon. Allenin takes a moment to take a sample of the bone meal for later, and tosses the sword to Thom. He waits, sitting on one of the glowing red stones as the others finally get to explore in the calm of the cavern.

The word wall at the bottom of the opening in the earth seems to repel Allenin, making him uneasy.

The rest of the room yields very little if the party loots. A few rotting cloths, and spare iron and old nordic arrows most in decent to poor condition. The sword, at first glance, looks like ebony, but is just a blackened steel blade, with minor Sparks.

Ilyssa had a very firm grasp of what her priorities should be; storing her bow, she immediately made for the chest. The rest of the room could be searched after she'd liberated the gold. It wasn't like it was going to be any use to anyone lying down here, after all.

The chest is easy enough to get into with a novice lock. The area of the chest and coin purse yield Ilyssa a total of 31 gold septims and a potion of minor healing and minor magika.

Allenin pops open a bottle of alto wine for him pack, and sips silently as he watches the others move about. He looks at the plants growing through the stones and mosses, thinking to himself about picking some mushrooms if he finds any further down the cave.

Pocketing the septims, Ilyssa rolled her eyes. "Look, if he has a problem with it, he can tell me himself."
