"Why don't we join them? Sounds like a nice vacation time for us. Plus if you guys like, we can make it seem like a team building exercise," Nisha suggested as she grabbed the last of her dumpling and plop it into her mouth, raising her empty plate towards Tyson.

Tyson sighed, but took the plate and got to working on the next batch of dumplings for Nisha. Thomas smiles at the declaration of the other team.

"Great! I'll give my mom a call and I'm sure you guys can get your own rooms."

"Yeah but can you not stab me?" Vance asked.

Vance quickly pulls out his scroll and puts his thumbs to work. Azula leans over his shoulder and gives a nod when he apparently gets the job done. Thomas sends a quick text on his scroll and frowns.

"Ah, Sterling, have you ever met my mom?" he asks.

"Because she's saying that you've finally grown up." Thomas explained, "I don't know, do your parents know her?"

"We could always call them and ask," Azula says.

"... why is everyone looking at me right now?" Vance asks.

"I dunno. An innocent soul like yourself would never have the phone numbers of random students' parents for no particular reason." Sienna said completely deadpan, shrugging.

Thomas looks at everyone and gingerly types a few things out on his scroll. After a few minutes of typing he smiles.

"Alright, everything's set up."

"That was quick," Tyson comments from the stove, putting a finished dumpling on a plate and quickly handing it to Nisha, "How did you manage that?"

Thomas scratches the back of his head and chuckles, "Well, apparently Headmaster Ozpin and my mom have some history."

Elise looks up from the sowing project of hers to give Thomas a confused glance.

"Not that kind of history," he says quickly.

"What kind of history?"

Thomas blinks and looks at everyone in the room. Vance just whistles to himself, Azula found the underside of her nails very interesting, and Tyson had long since resumed his kitchen duties.

"... I'll tell you later?"

Elise seemed content with that answer as she immediately goes back to knitting. Thomas lets out a sigh of relief and continues.

"He's allowing this retreat under the basis that we'll be training with my mom during our time there. I think you guys are off the hook, so I wouldn't worry about it."

"So we have to get the shit kicked out of us, while they get to have fun?" Vance guesses.

"... I... guess?" Thomas offers.

"Sounds like my life, I'm in!" Vance screams.

Only to receive a kick in the head from Azula. The aura enhanced limb left a visible mark on the poor boy as he was left spasming on the ground. Tyson looks down, flinches, and when none of the other members of his team did anything he asks.

"Does this happen often?"

"Not as often as you'd thin-" Thomas tries, only for Elise to cut him off.

"Yes," she says, without looking up from her knitting.

"Sterling didn't get to stab him, and he deserved some punishment," Azula justifies.

"... why are all hunters weird?"

"Environment?" Thomas offers.

"Conditioning?" Azula offers.

"Because they are the result of an uncaring world that has left the people in it without any love for the simple pleasures that we took for granted resulting in a society that holds no sustainable virtues," Elise says.

Silence reigns for a second, only to be broke up by Vance groaning out.

"Why me?"

Nisha already slid off her bed and began to pack some clothes in haste.

Thomas and Vance started to lean over to get a better view, only to have Elise and Azula bash them over the head. Putting her knitting supplies away, Elise drags the two men out of the room. As the door shuts, Tyson glances at the rest of his team.

"So... do you think this weird stuff happens to every team? Or are we just special?"

"I'm not sure. given what we've been through I hope not. " Sterling responds, he too pulling out a suitcase and packing.

Tyson shrugs, but finishes up the supper and gets to packing himself.

Thankfully for both teams, the rest of the day and the next morning came and went relatively quickly. Thomas sent out a text, instructing everyone to meet out at the airstrip. When team SNST got to the airstrip, they found the Elise knitting, swinging her legs over the edge of the side of the ship. Azula was laying on top of it, a small mirror in her hand.

Vance and Thomas were... well.

"Are you sure that's the right button?"

"Vance, I've been flying ships since before I could walk, I got this."

"How did you get to the cockpit if you couldn't walk?"

"That's what you zero in on!?"

"What? It's a legitimate question."

On top of the bullhead, Azula groans. Elise just hums to herself and waves at team SNST as they approach.

Sienna waved back to Elise as she followed Stirling onboard.

"Morning Sterling," Elise says.

She puts down her knitting, tying the last of the strands together before throwing her creation over Sterling's neck. It was a mostly black and blue scarf, with SNST knitted into it. Without even asking if he wanted, she wraps it protectively over his neck and tucking it into his shirt to make it more presentable.

Tilting her head, Elise smiles as she admires her work.

But then the sound of breaking glass draws everyone's attention. Opal was walking towards the airship, bag in one hand, twitching fingers in the other. On the ground, the remains of a shattered bottle of water.

"Ms Elise... w-what a-are-"

"It is cold in Atlas," Elise deadpans, "I was trying to be as Vance said, nice, and supplied him with an extra layer to help him acclimate to the cold."

She narrows her eyes at her.

"Did you bring him extra clothes to be nice?"

Opal blanches.

"N-no... I-I-"

"Well then you're clearly being a bad fiancée," Elise says before taking her seat.
