Harbinger's jaws clamped down around the Conn-Pod and the kaiju lifted its head...thankfully taking the whole Jaeger with it as opposed to tearing off the Pod and killing the twins. It whipped its head to the side and released Atlas, hurling the machine into the side of the Wall, before turning and receiving Iron Storm's fist to the face, followed quickly by a piston-powered punch from Cherno Alpha and a two-handed blow from Striker. The monster bellowed, enraged.

Harbinger's side claws whipped out and Cherno and Striker both stumbled back. Neither machine went down, but while Striker was off-balance Harbinger lunged down, pincers grabbing the Jaeger's shoulders as its maw widened.

The blade smashed into Harbinger's side, cratering the armor plates, but Striker was lifted into the air. "Someone get this mother&^%$er off of us!" Chuck screamed into the comms as Harbinger's jaws slammed shut.

On the Conn-Pod.

And with an almighty splash, the most powerful kaiju-fighting machine in the world, headless, collapsed into Los Angeles Bay.

Shadow Fang, charging headlong at the kaiju, caught a powerful blow from one of Harbinger's scythe-like claws that threw the machine onto its back beneath the surf. The monster bellowed, like Hell opening its gates and cheering, before striding forward at the remaining Jaegers.

Harbinger definitely felt Cherno's fist slam into its flank, but it was debatable how much real damage it had done. Especially since the enormous Category 5 promptly turned and screamed at the machine, lunging forward.

The fist rammed into Harbinger's flank, though as before it didn't seem to do that much damage.

In LOCCENT, many of the personnel were borderline panicking. One single Kaiju versus seven Jaegers? This should have been a curbstomp. Yet Striker and Shadow were gone. Only Cherno, Storm, Atlas, Typhoon and Intrepid still stood against the horrific force of nature that sought to demolish Los Angeles.

To make matters worse, nobody could make any sort of contact with the outside world. At all. Whatever that Category 5 had done near Hawaii it had knocked out their communications, for all they knew permanently. If Harbinger broke through they would die unable to tell their loved ones one last time that they loved them, and they couldn't warn the continental US about the mountain of raw fury that would surely raze the west coast to the ground.

To say morale was dropping was a gross understatement.

Then somebody stopped the Kaiju Warning siren that the Shatterdome had been broadcasting for the past three hours. The sudden silence was almost deafening and set off a new wave of panic, with people wondering if something had hit the 'dome.

Whatever it was, it announced itself momentarily with a sound like the heavens being rent open by the hand of God himself.

CRASH

BOOM

BOOM

CRASH

The LOCCENT personnel looked at each other. That was an oddly rhythmic, familiar sound...

BOOM-BOOM-CRASH. BOOM-BOOM-CRASH.
BOOM-BOOM-CRASH. BOOM-BOOM-CRASH.

Wait a minute. They knew this song!

ROCK YOU!

Queen's greatest hit reverberated out from the Shatterdome across the Bay, allowing the Rangers to hear it more than clearly in their Conn-Pods. In LOCCENT, the personnel found new strength; stomping, clapping and singing at the top of their lungs. In Anti-Kaiju shelters around the city, crowds of people were raucously echoing the song. The entire city of Los Angeles was sending a message to Harbinger and the kaiju in general.

Not a single soul doubted for a moment that even if Harbinger broke their defenses, it would know it had been in a fight.

And if it went on into the US of by-God A after that fight in would do it with a big-ass Jaeger bootprint on its colossal backside, signed "from Los Angeles with love, mother&^%$er!"

Both pilots simply smile. With new found determination Cherno throw cation to the wind and throws everything it can at the Harbinger

Atlas had climbed to the top of the wall but paused when it heard the song.

"Hear their song?" Trent asked. His brother scoffed.

"I may be crippled but I'm not deaf yet. Let's get killing!" Tyler shouts to his brother as Titan Atlas jumps from the wall with its blades aimed at the kiaju as it fell.

"We Will Rock!" The twins call out over the coms as Atlas flew at the monster.

Atlas, as it attempted to climb the wall, promptly fell flat on its back as the section of Wall crumbled beneath its weight, not designed to support it. The falling machine sent up a colossal splash as it hit the water.

Crimson Typhoon's three hands began spinning rapidly, turning into buzz saws as the Jaeger struck the signature pose of Thundercloud Formation, the Wei triplets' trademark fighting style. Harbinger bellowed as Typhoon's spinning blades slashed open the flesh in its leg, rearing backward and leaving itself wide open.

Cherno steamrolled into Harbinger while the kaiju was still unbalanced, knocking it backwards into the surf. It bellowed in pain as Typhoon continued to carve up its flesh.

Atlas got up. Slowly before starting to cut up the legs of the Kaiju, trying to bring it closer to its death.

"Well that failed." Trent says as Tyler only focused on slicing the Kaiju.

Harbinger's front two legs are effectively ruined, the right leg reduced to a mess of glowing blue blood and torn flesh by Crimson Typhoon's continued assault and the left hewn clean off by Titan Atlas' swords. The kaiju shoved itself to its feet (to be specific, its hind feet and the two scythe-claws that it was employing as interrim legs) and bellowed, butting the two Jaegers aside with a shake of its head.

Harbinger moved a lot less than the Kaidanovskys were expecting. The Category 5 managed to tank Cherno's charge fairly easily; it still hurt the beast, but it was in a good position after to knock Cherno on its giant metal backside.
