This objective they achieved, even managing to hit Leatherback in the face as it spun to pursue them.

[Helsing]

"YOU WANA TUSEL YOU BIG F#$%? DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR DEALING WITH? CAVE MOTHERF@#$ING JOHNSON. COME AT ME"

The Rangers get into a battle stance waiting for the right moment

Leatherback weighed its options. Romeo was clearly ready for it to charge, and if it stayed here it would probably get shot again. And Cherno Alpha was advancing ominously from the north.

This called for drastic measures. Cherno would be a bit arriving, which meant that Romeo was the target for the moment. Leatherback spun in place, grabbing the wrecked Ferris wheel as it did so, before slinging it at Romeo and only then charging.

[Helsing]

Romeo dodged the Ferris wheel

"Shoot the legs!" Cave says before the Jeagar got into its position and fired its guns at the monsters legs

[Flagmauth]

Unfortunately, that did about nothing before Leatherback was upon them. Fortunately, Leatherback kinda donked its attack - its fist glanced off the giant fin Romeo had sticking out of its chest. That same fin then slammed straight into its face, sending it reeling while Romeo hit it once, then twice with its cryo maces, splinters of rock-hard frozen armor flying from each hit.

Leatherback bellowed in pain, raising an arm to strike back, before an enormous green fist smashed into its shoulder. Bones shattered on impact and the kaiju bellowed again as Cherno clamped its right hand over the bony crest atop Leatherback's skull and pulled backward, arching the kaiju's spine and leaving its remaining arm to flail helplessly at the air. Now Leatherback's throat was nicely exposed, and Cherno Alpha was politely just holding it there - even without comms, it was pretty clear they were urging Romeo to take the shot and end it.

[Helsing]

"Welcome to Earth F@#$er" Eren says

"Took the words right out of my mouth"

Romeo saw the obvious shot and dumped all of the amo it could into the monsters neck

[Flagmauth]

The shells from Romeo's cannon punctured Leatherback's exposed underbelly quite easily, turning the front of the monster into...well, the best description probably involved the terms "waterfall" and "gore"

Cherno dropped the explosively gutted corpse. That was both kaiju down...but Crimson and Ronin hadn't moved since Leatherback hit them with its EMP. Additionally, LOCCENT hadn't said anything since then either, and Mesa Black's helicopter probably hadn't done too well itself.

And just for the sake of needless complications, neither Jaeger had their comms up, courtesy of that very same EMP.

The occupants of Crimson continue to fumble with the systems in an attempt to get a response.

[Helsing]

"Hello? Testing, 1 2 3, any asshat pick up?"

[Flagmauth]

Cherno Alpha did not respond; neither did LOCCENT or anyone else. The comms were still dead.

This left them with an interesting problem. The obvious thing to do was to go back to the Shatterdome, but presumably the EMP had wiped out the 'dome Jumphawks and door controls. Which meant that, for the moment, the two Jaegers that were still active were just kinda sitting there with nothing to do.

From inside Romeo's Conn-Pod, they could hear very faint techno music, presumably coming from Cherno Alpha's Conn-Pod, which raised all sorts of questions regarding how loud it had to be in order to be heard through both Jaegers' armor.

[Helsing]

"How is that music reaching us?" Eren asks

"I don't know but it sounds nice"

[A Blind Guy]

"Suzaku, you dead?" Kamina asks.

"Not yet." Suxaku answers. trying to activate Ronin's systems.

[Flagmauth]

And Ronin came back online, lights blinking back on as the HUD and diagnostics sprang up in front of them.

the Jaeger shakily stands.

[Flagmauth]

Cherno Alpha noticed. The Kaidanovskys held up a hand in greeting.

[A Blind Guy]

Tacit Ronin walks over to Cherno and tries to high five the hand, missing by a few feet.

[Flagmauth]

Cherno stepped back on reflex, then realized what Ronin had tried to do and held its hand in place for a second try at it.

[A Blind Guy]

Ronin goes for the high five again, this time hitting it's mark.

"If they can fix it, we can" the brothers attempt to do a slow and full system check.

[Helsing]

Romeo does random motions hopping one of them would get the message of how the hell do we turn the coms on

[Flagmauth]

Crimson's systems remained offline and Cherno (along with the Japanese people watching) had a good laugh at Romeo's expense.

By the by, the Shatterdome got its stuff back together and recovered the four Jaegers. They were allowed to retire to the rec room, where a debate was raging over the ineffectiveness of the Wall first in Sydney and now in Tokyo on the television.

[Helsing]

"Well who pegged that the wall wouldn't last a week?"

[Flagmauth]

Sasha soberly handed her husband a...well, it was money of some sort the others hadn't seen before anyway. Aleksis pocketed it with a small smile.

[A Blind Guy]

"Damnit I called 2 weeks." Kamina says, fumbling in his wallet and hands suzaku around 20,000 yen, or about 20 dollars, which he accepts with a sly smile.
