Wei One gave him a flat look, expression unreadable. Wei Three shook his head.

Don went through his pocket again and pulled out his phone. "Oh. Hey. A kaiju was just detected - " He stopped as his eyebrows made their best attempt to fly off his head and through the Dome roof.

Cave suddenly got a really serious expression on his face "How fast can we get the Jeagers out there?" he asks to no one in particular but he sounded like he expected a good answer

Don checked his phone. "Looks like it's two Category 4 kaiju. Codenamed Otachi and Leatherback. Both heading for Tokyo Bay fast as they can - JSDF has an E-767K up and tracking them. Wonder why they're moving together...mates, perhaps? That'd be all we need, a breeding kaiju population."

"No. I don't." Herc stared hard at the Rangers. "But last I checked, all the Jaegers are inactive, we don't have the personnel to run the activation procedure, and we don't have the funds to pay them even if we did. We have no choice in the matter, gentlemen."

Minutes went by. Soon Otachi and Leatherback were right outside the Tokyo Bay wall. The JSDF wasn't attacking them, not wanting to provoke them into attempting to come over or through the wall.

****Tokyo Bay Wall****

Helicopters buzzed overhead, staying well out of the reach of the two kaiju. Camera feeds were transmitting to the news network, which the Shatterdome was currently hooked up to via television. Both of the immense monsters, the largest Category 4s ever seen besides Mutavore, were looking more than a little perplexed at the huge wall, with JSDF soldiers scurrying along the top of it, mostly trying to get the heck away from the beasts.

The bulkier of the pair, Leatherback approached the wall and, inquisitively, prodded it with one of its armored fists. Then it tensed, hauling its arm back -

BOOM!

The titanic force of the blow left a huge indentation on the side of the wall. Seconds later, one of Otachi's huge claws slammed into the same spot, digging into the concrete as pieces the size of semi trailers plummeted into the waters of the bay behind it. The pterodactyl-like kaiju pulled back, tearing a huge chunk out of the wall's outer layer. With its structural integrity compromised, the section above the new hole shifted downwards before toppling outward into the bay - Otachi scrambled back, hissing, to avoid taking the concrete right in the face.

Steel beams screeched in agony as Leatherback moved forward again, delivering a two-handed blow that shook the ground to the second layer of the wall. The second out of three. And this wasn't holding up any better than the first one.
